well I finally have a heat treat oven headed my way and decided it’s time to put together a plate quench vise! vise similar to what I used......amzn.to/3arrysm I bought the aluminum plates from eBay

I made the exact same plate quench assembly, ended up accidentally stripping the threads out of the plate so I drilled all the way through the block and countersunk the holes so the screw heads were flush with the plate faces.

Now part of me wants to see what a "lever over" one would look like. I'm thinking of a panini press kind of build. Depending on the arms and such, might be able to fit some super size blades in there. Regardless, thanks for the solid content.

What's the minimum thickness of the plate? At my place it's hard to find 1" thick plate
