Thanks you for this, but I have a question. Isn’t the hourly charge of $350 a profit already? Or what is the difference between the hourly fee of $350 and the overhead & profit.

Great question! Let me break it down. In this example, three people were working on set, each with their own rate. As the owner, I also consider myself an employee of the production team, so I factor in my own rate for the work I do. Now, think of it this way: if I hired two other people to do the job and their rates were $175/hour each, the total cost for their work would be $350/hour. That $350/hour would go directly to paying them, leaving no additional profit for the company if I didn’t account for a margin. This is where the difference comes in-*overhead and profit* are added to ensure the company remains profitable even when all the work is outsourced. Essentially, the hourly fee includes both the cost of labor (for everyone involved) and a margin to cover business expenses and ensure the company earns a profit.
