@LisaWinterX5 жыл бұрын
Hi Tobe. I describe some of the parts in the video description. For wheels in particular it reallllly depends on the size and function of the robot, and what surface you'll be driving on. Some times wheels from a hardware store are fine, or an RC car shop.

Thank you for amazing explaination, just a small doubt how does the robot know to go straight for example, when your press forward button on the joystick?
@LisaWinterX3 жыл бұрын
The joystick acts as a mixer for the two channels/motors. Pressing the joystick forward sends both channels power, which means that both motors spin the same direction (forward in this case). If I press the joystick to the right then it tells my left motor to go forward, and the right one to go backwards, which makes the robot turn right.

@LisaWinterX4 жыл бұрын
Are you asking about the remote control? The remote control (Tx) is paired with the receiver (Rx), which tells the ESCs how much power to give the motors.

Hi Lisa, I'm new to robotics/rc and want to try my hand at making one. My plan is to have a 4 wheel robot snow plow with a 775 motor per wheel. I am stuck on finding the right electronic speed controller. The motors I bought are basically cordless drill motors. Anyway, I see a couple of ESCs that specifically say they work with RC, but they are upwards of $80 each for the dual channel (Roboclaw, Sabertooth...). Any suggestion on an ESC that will work with radio control and not break the bank? Also, do I understand it right that I will need two dual channel ESCs to power the 4 motors? Thanks in advance for any tips you can provide. All the best!
@LisaWinterX5 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith, a dual channel ESC controls two motors separately. So, if you have 4 wheels/motors you can either control just one motor on either side, or you can control the whole left side on one channel and the whole right side on the second channel. It's true that if you want to control a decent amount of current then the ESC will be a bit pricey, however it's worth it because cheap ESCs will blowup and you'll just have to buy it again! Go for a good one from the start.

How many motors we need to build a robot car that has 4 wheels? And what type of motor we need ? Please explain thanks
@LisaWinterX4 жыл бұрын
Hi, there are many different ways of doing this. Some of the most common options are to have 1 motor per wheel, OR you could use 2 motors on 2 of the wheels and the other wheels are not powered, OR you could have 2 motors each connected to 2 wheels via chains or belts. You'll want a DC motor (unless you're thinking of plugging the robot into wall power). The 'size' of the motor completely depends on how big the robot is and what it will be doing. Motors for robot wheels are usually geared for a preference of torque over speed.
