Great video! My son and I do Sand sculpting when we can. I keep track of the tide. I have lupus and can't be in the sun very long and I get fatigued. We do our sculpting early so that when the sun comes up and the beach starts to fill up we are finishing. Then the kids can play on the sculpture!

I came across this video looking for inspiration for my art class... This looks like a fun project the kids can do (7th 8th grade 12-13 yr olds). If I'm going to haul sand into my classroom, is there a particular type of sand I should use or is beach sand okay? Also, can you recommend a hardening agent the students can apply to the finished product so they may transport their sculpture home? I was simply going to spray it with waterproof glue...

Hi - I think I can help. They use "brickies" sand - all you need is brickies sand and water :-) Then spray with a biodegradable glue with water repellant properties at the end.

i used my hand and a ruler toake a tunnel...the tunnel was used out of a simple toilet roll covered with some good-o sand..it looked pretty good....i have a hotwheel Lamborghini
