this is going to be Invaluable in larger pvp maps. with this and the factory ship tutorial i just saw i think it could be relatively easy to make a mine laying ship.

It's been a year but still a great video, thanks Morphologis;) I'm looking to learn more about the game... I think it's brilliant. Here's a challenge.. is there a way to make smart mines that move out of the way when friendly ships pass through the mine field but attack enemies?... that AND is it possible they detect other mines and make sure they don't collide with those? I'm thinking it would probably require some scripting but it should be doable, right? that way you could potentially make a minefield of many mines which your faction can fly through without hassle. in theory ofc. I don't think it's possible to have them move back to their old position after you've passed though, though with the GPS coördinates it could potentially work.

+Fizzlefuse You would simply need to add an extra sensor on each side set to detect friendly and fire those thrusters back..use a timer block on it to then stabilize the mine.

Can you do this in the form of a mobile turret? Without using mod blocks. Also, for an additional challenge, set it up in survival mode?

problem is these are ineffective in an actual pvp game they cant get speed up quick enough to hit a passing ship, the enemy can skim past your mine field and lure the mines out of position and out maneuver them, more effective and cheaper mines are just a single station block of heavy armor or a station block warhead the station heavy armor blocks tear through ships better than warheads

+Hindu Goat well this is irrelevant now since stations dont work like that anymore also a ship passing through would get hit since its a minefield and they come from all sides a fighter may out maneuver them but the main target are large ships anyways

Love the build! Just curious whether anyone here might know... Is there some graphical setting that I need to check in order to see Sensor and Gravity fields from the Info tab? Those checks don't work for me at all, though CoM does, as well as the new Antenna range one.

Dude I know... I had this problem with a previous patch or something. I don't know how to see sensor range or gravity fields anymore... They changed it to something else.

Not at the moment, but in a future update you will be able to set them to sense either only your faction, enemies, or only you.

Can someone help me? I build a mine like this from small ship parts. If the mine get's to within about 10-20m of a large ship, it stops because all the movement sensors are being activated at the same time. How can I overcome that?

Warhead should do more damage. Very expensive in survival with 12x warhead and this joke of damage -.- Isnt funny, when we compare this damage with 4-6x rockets....
