This video will show you how to build a shed floor, step-by-step.
There are many different shed floor foundation options available for sheds. However, I built my shed floor using pressure treated 4"x4" and 2"x4" pressure treated lumber.
When building my shed, I was lucky to have an existing 10'x10' concrete slab that I could build my slab upon. If you don't yet have a shed foundation, check out these resources below:

In the next few weeks, I will show you:
- How to Frame Shed Walls
- How to install a lean to shed roof
- How to Install shingles on a shed roof
- How to install Shed Windows
- And much, much more.
Here is the introduction video for the modern shed build series:

If you want to learn how to build the EXACT shed show in the video, I put together "The Modern Shed Build Course" (bit.ly/3PeKr4V) which includes a materials list🧱, tools list 🛠, and cut list 🪚for each step of the entire shed build process. Basically, this course makes it feel like you built this shed alongside me! Every purchase helps support the channel!

You do carpentry like good professionals. Are you in the trade? You and your brother work together like a well-oiled machine too. Thanks for the great and informative explanations

Screws are the opposite of more secure sir. When subjected to load, a nail's shear strength (breaking across the screw or nail) is actually 4 times as much as a screw. It's not really an opinion, it's actually part of building code to use nails not screws for that very reason. The law dictates nails for pretty much everything except drywall. Drywall you have the option to use nails or screws. I prefer screws there due to popout. That's my opinion. Also laying down deck boards you have the option, and windows and doors get installed with screws not nails. Pretty much everything else is mandated to be nails.

Very nice specially those three windows on top of the door. Do you think this can be a small work from home office, if the interior is finished?

I live in FL and don't have a concrete pad. Is there another way to secure it? I'm also a renter.

How do you protect the base from humidity and moisture? Being placed directly on the concrete isn't going to be affected on the long term?
@woodmanmade
@woodmanmade Жыл бұрын
He is using pressure treated lumber which resists rot, but adding a sill gasket between the concrete pad and the lumber would give additional protection. Should also add flashing around the perimeter of the framing so water does not make its way back onto the concrete slab, diverting it to the ground.

Many people believe that two diagonals of equal length means the shape is square. Not always true; an isosceles trapezium has equal diagonals but is not square. Take care.
