I've seen a sump described as "the lowest point of a circulation system". Of course that would mean that an elevated sump wouldn't be a sump, but... whatever, it seems a pretty good definition, that covers most things called "sump"

Yay, DIY! I've been thinking for a while, that you could have people send you pictures of things they have done from the help you've given, with any twists of their own that they've added. You could maybe occasionally have a small feature segment of builds you've inspired. I'm working on a 3 foot long overhead sump for my new 75 gallon, and used about three or four different ideas from you and mashed them together, with a few tweaks.

I just built one of those, flower box?? It worked awesome and it filters things so well!

Yup. Built a simple wood "sled" for it to rest on and painted the supports and pvc black - looks really slick and clean - in the tank and out. Decided to give this a try versus shifting my canister filters over. There's no tubing running up and down, the heater will be hidden, and I'm probably at least tripling the media capacity if I want. Glad to know yours is working great - hope to get mine up and running very soon.

Seriously love your DIY vids dude. Always learning something new even if I already know about the subject vat hand your constantly teaching new or different ways to get it done!!
