My website: woodspirit.net/
Link to tools I use: woodspirit.net... By using pressure treated lumber and 1" diameter black pipe you can build a simple backyard bodyweight gym. This cost me about $160 dollars to build.

You should do a video of you working out on the equipment you built, how it's holding up, or any changes to it.

@Mark Hanson , yes, pls do. i don't know what those lower handles are for. and why are the dip bars on an angle (getting further apart)? is there a specific exercise or reason? thx.
@xPostpunk
@xPostpunk 4 жыл бұрын
Jae Pak In calisthenics parks, those lower handles are for incline pushups and exercises. The dip bars are angled because each width impacts difference muscles.

@@xPostpunk Closer together bars and keep body more upright focuses on triceps. Wider hands and leaning forward puts more stress on chest. I think the design is done to increase the strength of the equipment. Great idea.

As someone who "Would Rather Make Everything Myself," it's awesome to see people sharing their DIY projects like this! And at the same time, it sickens me to see so many other people complaining about "I don't have power tools," or, "Materials are too expensive," or, "My balls never dropped..." People, just shut the hell up and be grateful that someone is gracious enough to share their ideas. A TRUE diy person will figure it out on their own. If you're too lazy (or stupid) to do so, then go to Big 5 and spend the damn money for some made in china bullshit that's gonna break down with moderate usage. Don't take a man's proud knowledge and courtesy, and shit all over it because you "don't have what it takes," cuz that's really what it boils down to. And by that same line of logic, if you don't have what it takes to be creative enough to figure this out, then you most likely don't have what it takes to be a creative bodyweight athlete anyway, so move along trolls. This DIY video is great, the channel is great, kudos and keep up the awesome work! Thank you for the wonderful content!

tips: pre drill your screw holes half the size of your screw, if your not going to pre drill then use a hammer drill to drive the screws in, better still is to use through bolts and locktight as well as using braces to secure into the ground because that will last longer and is something you can maintain longer. Use what you have of course, buuuut if you can through bolt the posts and secure it well.

Screws>nails... Bolts>Screws. Drill holes and bolt it together through the 4x with some nice fat bolts with oversized washers.Or use decking braces. You will get a lot more life out of it. No criticism intended though, I took some great ideas from this! I'll definitely use that inspiration to build my own
