@zacharywilcox21594 жыл бұрын
Built this during quarantine with my friend, works great. Sturdy enough for 3 people to drop in at the same time. I learned rock to fakie on the ramp. Taught my friends how to drop in by putting the ramp in grass so they wouldn’t be afraid to fall. I would recommend a thin sheet of metal at the very end because the wood chipped and broke. Plus the metal makes the transition smoother.

Awesome ramp! Took a friend and myself about 3 hours to complete, very sturdy awesome ramp, only thing I suggest is to use metal pipe instead of PVC, within 10 minutes of using it we cracked it plus it makes horrible noises with the PVC

the construction adhesive method for the coping is the same reason I broke my collar bone, drill the hole and make sure they are screwed down. If you are able you can also use a washer bolt and nut to get a better fit. This also helps with removing the coping if it gets damaged. Same thing with attaching the deck. Two bolts on each side with a metal bracket will make your ramp last longer they can be found at Lowes too.

Hi , thanks so much for these videos. I just finished making 2 quarters based on your design & explanation and am having a lot of fun on them re-learning skating in my 40s with my kids. i made one at 24" with a 5'ish radius and a mellower one at 23" with a 6' ish radius. It is worth pointing out that your plans and materials specs only work for the specific ramp in the video (23" & 5' radius). For the 6' radius ramp i had to use an extra bit of ply for the transition because it's longer. The great thing is that i could make make 2 ramps from the ply that you specify by buying a few extra 2x4s and using some scrap bits of wood i had for the platform , a fantastic cheap micro halfpipe! My tip is : Take your time to get the coping levels right, makes a big difference.

@AdamDIY I literally never post you tube comments but this is dope. I've been debating building a mini ramp in my backyard so badly, i'm 22 an wanna get back into skating. As a kid the parks were far so all I did was flat an some rails(wasn't good but it was a lot of fun). I couldn't find any other good PVC info but this helped a ton thanks, metals expensive. Sorry to be pushy bro but you should do another vid on a full size mini ramp i mean it's not like you don't already have half of it LOL. Seriously though, I've been thinking about this for months. This is like probably the 20th video I've watched and every other one was on mini ramps, but this was was the best by far. And not only that you gave by far the most info thank you so much!(the list of materials in the comments is fantastic out of all the videos i think i maybe found one other that had the list makes it so much easier :D). PS just kidding don't make a whole new video for one guy but i'm happy i stumbled onto your channel I love diy thanks for the hard work!

you have to check for steel pipe, the thing they use to pass electric wire. it's aroung 35$ canadian for a 10'X2'' and use self-drilling metal screws to fix it

Been skating 20+ years, absolutely don't use pvc. Someone else mentioned this guy saying you should just glue the coping in which is also very VERY wrong. Needs to be screwed in. I'll leave a comment on the video when I get to the end and see if there are any other issues
