Hey Laughter King, LG ThinQ appliances work with the Google Assistant, so you can go hands-free with simple voice commands. Once you're up and running with your ThinQ device, jump into the Google Home app and click [+] in the top-left hand corner, then select [Set up device]. Now select the second option, [Works with Google] and scroll down, or search for [LG ThinQ] to sign in with your LG Account and pair your devices. Give us a shout if you have any issues :)

Thank you very for your video. Could I set the google routine like this: read the information from one smart sensor, and based on this information to control another smart device? Such as if the temperature is over a degree, then turn on a smart plug? Thanks

A new version of Google home app does not update automatically ??? Do I have to delete the old version and reinstall the new one ???

Hey Sorin, Routines are a really great addition to the Google Home app but are not part of the Google app. The Google Home app is free and available on Google Play and the App store though. (responded to this question twice just in case anyone else didn't view the other video and wanted to know the same thing).

Does it have a option to add timer. For example turn off my geyser which has a smart switch already connected?
@Nathan.Google4 жыл бұрын
Hey Syed. Head over to assistant.google.com/explore - to make sure your smart switch is compatible. You could then do one of the following: Add a command and action to turn your switch on eg. 'Geyser on' to 'turn [smart switch] on', setting a time and day, then adding a second action to turn the Geyser off eg. 'turn [smart switch] off' and set your time and day. You could also try this within a single action by adding a duration, eg. 'Geyser on' to 'turn [smart switch] on for 60 minutes' - although this may not be compatible with your specific device. Hope this helps.

my google home app doesn't have the routines..
@Nathan.Google4 жыл бұрын
Hey caesarlivenloud, On the latest version on the Google Home app you should have a dedicated Routines button on the main page (right next to the Settings button). Double check you're on the most recent version of the app and take another look. Any issues just let me know.

Can anyone help me please. I am a techophobe but do try. I've tried to set up a google home speaker. I assumed I could just download the app to my chromebook, well that doesn't work. I also tried using mt Fire tablet, again that failed. Am I right in assuming it will only work if you use a smartphone, which I don't have. Why is this ? I got it working at my partners house, she downloaded the app on her smartphone, what I don't understand is that it worked even when her phone was switched off. What am I missing, apart from a younger brain !

Hey No-one Man, thanks for reaching out - and great job on the progress so far. Currently the Google Home app is not available through your Amazon Fire Tablet's AppStore, and so you would not be able to install the app via this method. Your Chromebook on the other hand should be compatible with the Android version of the app. If you click on the time (bottom right hand corner of your Chromebook's desktop), click the Settings cog, then go down to the 'Apps' section, you should see an option to 'Install apps and games from Google Play on your Chromebook'. Once this setting is enabled, you can use Google Play on your Chromebook to search for compatible apps (just like on an Android phone), and install the Google Home app. It's worth noting that once your Google smart speaker is set up, it can run independently of a smartphone. If the above doesn't work for you , and you are in a position to use a smart phone with the Google Home app to set up your speaker at home, it can respond to your voice commands irrespective of the smartphone being on or present. Google products require setting up through the Google Home app for security, privacy and functionality, one example of which could be the linking of a music subscription service you wish your Google device to use when asking for music - but once they are set-up, you can interact with them in their current state without using the app. If you are unable to use a smartphone for this set up process, I'd recommend following my steps for using the Google Home app on a Chromebook. I've included the official Google support page link below should you need any more information. support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7021273?hl=en-GB Let me know how you get on!
