My favorite build is 5 Sorcerer, 5 Warlock, 2 Paladin. You get 22 Divine Smites, so you can use one every attack, in every encounter. And the warlock levels gives your Charisma bonus to both of your attacks!

@swiftcastholy9034 I start with Sorcerer for the con saving throw. Spec into Warlock for 5 levels for the extra attack on Pact of the blade. Then get 2 Paladin for the divine smite. Then finish off Sorcerer 😁

5 Pact of Blade Warlock, 7 Oath Breaker Paladin is king for me. 2 extra attacks, and at lvl 7, Oath Breaker buffs all your undead near you, it's so good with the Necromancer of Thay book. Bard is defs the most busted class in the game though. I just can't bring myself to play a dancing hoe yet 😂

I honestly just cant get enough of BG3. From how many different variations you have to proceed main storyline and storyline of your companions. to vast amount of classes, builds, creating hybrids, when you play for 20 hours and then you think of other variation of which “seems cool” to rerolling there. to watching random youtube content/shorts and find out hidden things on how you could easily surpass…. On first playthrough I decided to just plain level companions and focus on Tav’s build. Going with the flow, without quick loading on dialog failures or anything. And on second playthrough I know, Ill be customizing each companion to something unique and try to synergies all between. And yet i know, I will still be eager to go into 3rd playthrough and not feel bored or seeing it as a dull game. BG3 definetly raised the bar. And I havent been sucked into the game for a very very long time

I went for evocation wizard 2 / sorcerer X, so I could cast without regard to my allies. (The final build will be 4 wizard / sorc 8 for minmaxing my feats). Feels good to unleash 3 fireballs without haste without having to worry about hurting the rest of my party :D

good, thorough vid, but it was still a little too much detail w/o really defining the sorcerers MO, so for other ppl that are noobs to dnd, i found a good explanation on reddit that i wanna share. wizard= "i got a spell for that" but they cant just sling spell after spell w/o resting sorcerer= damage dealing spell casters, less utility gale totally has some damage dealing spells, but despite that, i end up relying on cantrips to deal damage. apparently, thats the point. its the trade off of being able to roll around with enhanced leap for non combat situations, or enlarge on your fighter or monk.

PSA for anyone concerned about the logistics of a Draconic Bloodline: Dragons in Faerun can shapeshift into humanoids. There is (or used to be?) a dragon living in Raven's Bluff that spent a lot of time lazing around as a cat, so I'm not sure of the specific spell in 5e. Metallic (good) dragons in particular will use this ability to live alongside humanoids without scaring everyone and destroying everything when they take their huge bulk for a stroll through the streets.

the high elf cantrip "casting with int" doesn't cast with int, it casts with your normal spellcasting attribute if you have one. I suppose it might cast with int if you are a barbarian or some such.

Damage may be based on her wisdom but the accuracy is 100% based on intelligence. There's a -1 penalty to that, but proficiency does make up for it, it's still not as accurate as the rest of her kit though.

Sorry, I just have to nitpick a little. Why is Githyanki last? Everyone wants to choose Half-Elf for Sorcs, but the Gith (IMHO) are the best. Mage Hand, Misty Step, Jump, and Medium Armor, not to mention skill proficiency. I went Sorc 12 for the 3rd feat. I took athletics for the addition Jump range. Yes, you mentioned this in the video, but felt like just additional information. I am saying it again to emphasize just how good the Gith are for the Sorc class.

I'm still waiting for the Mac release (insert snide comment here:_________.), but I have a question about the Strength attribute in general; vis a vis elixirs of Hill Giant Strength. In EA, elixirs of Hill Giant Strength were pretty plentiful. That might not be the same for the general release; but if they are still around, is there any merit to keeping your strength, at least initially, relegated to a moderate amount - supplemented with an elixirs of Hill Giant Strength? I know you lose out on elemental resistance elixirs; but that was always a trade off that I was willing to make. Perhaps it doesn't makes sense in the full game. Just askin.'

Does anyone know if Flame Blade scales with a red draconic bloodline sorcerer? I can't find anything on it anywhere but I don't see why it wouldn't? If it does Flame Blade for Tiefling scales with CHA just like sorcerers anyway, and Draconic Sorcerer is the most suited to spellswording since they have way higher HP and Armor class. So I was wondering if You'd be able to add your charisma modifier to that as well. If this does work you could also add dueling since it's a scimitar for 2 extra damage, not to mention you'd have the metamagic to double the length it lasts to 20 turns which is any fight realistically, you could take the feat to ignore fire resistance on the enemy which you'd be taking as a fire dragon sorc anyway. There's so much cool synergy for it. You could even go level 5 multiclass with warlock to get all the usual sorlock stuff and a second attack with it when you make it your pact weapon. Or Paladin multiclass to get searing smite for more fire damage (which I'm also not sure scales with draconic blood?) and dueling fighting style while also getting better armor and shields just for 2 levels.

Sorcerers learn spells on every level up, so you can't change the spells you know until your next level up. Wizards can change the spells they know without leveling. I think😅 I'm still new to the game.

Wizards studied all their lives to master magic. Sorcerers are born with the innate ability to bend the weave. The key difference being that one is a giant nerd(wiz), and the other’s parents likely had a dragon fetish. Either way, they’re both awesome classes, and I highly recommend you try both.

Sorcerer = you're stuck with whatever spells you chose during your last level-up Wizard = you can choose AT WILL (just open your spellbook with "k") which spells you want to have ready to go for your next encounter *Wizard allows you to swap spells in and out at will--- more versatile

I’m about 30 hours in, lvl 4… there is no spell that compares to Magic Missile. I have chromatic orb, other damage spells, but they only ever have a 55%-65% chance of hitting (except on very meek foes who are not worth the spellcast). Meanwhile, Magic Middle hits 100%every time!!! In any serious battle situation, you’d have to be a FOOL to cast anything else, unless you are just trying to roleplay or see something else that looks cool in a low-stakes battle.

The Dmg isn't great, but M.M. is perfect for knocking out the Hag's false images, finishing off low- HP enemies.. However BG3 rewards you for coating surfaces with water ( either throw a flask of Water , or cast Create Water ) and then use either a cold or electric spell - that wet surface gets altered into a slick icy surface that can make enemies slip/ fall down and loose thier Action, or Zaps everyone in the electrified water for 1d4 Dmg/ Rd.

29:19 - Uh, that's not attack rolls. It's damage rolls. It makes it so you can't roll 1 on the damage roll. (In pen and paper it changes them to a 2. BG3 isn't clear if it's rerolling or making it a 2.) So for example let's say you took it for fire. Fireball does 8d6. Meaning you can get deal 8-48 damage. With the feat fireball now is a 16-48 damage.

When multiclassing the class you level is what gives you the features. If youre a level 6 character but have multiclassed 6 times you only have the level 1 feature of each class

The only things that apply to character level rather than class level are cantrip power and racial bonuses (e.g. no matter what classes you have, eldritch blast is 2 attacks at level 5 and 3 attacks at level 9, and tieflings get an additional spell at level 3 and level 5)

Dark Urge is terrible for a sorcerer since it locks you out of getting the potent robe, arguably the strongest armor piece for a sorcerer

1st you don't use Tiefling. Dragonborn is the best race for warlock with these rules.

@@jasminesidney8174 I mean it's not a terrible option, but sorc is typically elemental at higher levels, allowing a Dragonborn to do max damage with breath weapons. When I play tiefling it's Bard almost always. In BG3 the races don't mean much, as this isn't DnD 5e, it just says it is. Half elf would make the best sorc in real 5e, probably.

@@aaronhumphrey2009 Cool Cool. Tiefling is cool for sorc. The meta is DragonBorn imo. I actually stopped playing it when it dropped because they changed the rules from pre-order to the final version. Tiefling could be better after patches etc. These current BG3 rules aren't really 5e rules so it isn't the build rules I know from Table Top. Much different and most races are the same having the same ability scores.
