Great project, thank you for sharing all your experience and knowledge. I have just acquired a MARLIN 860 (28 foot French trawler from 1974) and I will no doubt go through jobs like yours. I am very curious about the rest of the work on the head.

.. We started our boating adventures on a '65 Alberg 30 c1980. I'm currently working on a '74 north sea aft cabin trawler (quite similar to the Albin 27). I started by tearing out the interior. It had a horrible little head, no shower, an unworkable galley and zero creature comforts. May or may not enclose the open whlhse. Great site, love it.

John thanks so much. My first true love was a 1972 Alberg 30. In the coming months my book about the boat and my experience will become available in reprint. Stay tuned

Wow, lots of hours and really impressive rebuild, I will continue to follow your progress as I have long been interested in a boat for coastal/great loop cruising and the Albin 27 is one my top contenders.

Thanks so much! The Albin 27 is a great choice!

That bulkhead you removed didn't look like it was providing any structure. On some boats I think they do. How would you know?

Good question Usually bulkheads that are tabbed in help provide structure

1:55 Is that your actual boat that you lived on? What kind of boat is it?
