As someone who has recently picked up the game waaay late in its run, I really appreciate how clear and easy to follow your videos are, while also being entertaining to watch. You have the "everything you need to know about..." videos laid out in such a way that a more seasoned player can just skip to the parts they need, while a new player like me can watch it all. Recently I've been changing it up. After years of playing, I prefer my starter bases in a village that I can make a wall around for raids. Even better if there's a pillager outpost nearby. Then I'll make a trading hall and Iron farm in that village. I'll stay and trade until I have fully enchanted diamond armor, equipment, and a maxed out bow. Then it's in to the nether and dragon. Sometimes I'll do the full netherite thing before the Dragon. It's unbelievable how much this game has changed since I started playing it on the PS3 and PS Vita.

I love your videos and watch them all (and like them all, too). I seldom make a comment (can't say never, tho) but this deserves a really BIG "thumbs up", IMO. Also, for those who don't know, you don't need a diamond pick to make obsidian, lava and water will make great obsidian, although, you do need 2 diamonds for the enchanting table, which can be found in a few villages or even a shipwreck. I haven't figured out how to get nether wart or soul sand without going to the nether, tho...sadly (hate that place - LOL). Thanks for the tutorial and, BTW, love what you did to turn boring outside walls into interesting walls with the stairs. That's a tip I really love. Thanks for that one!

Hey Eyecraft, I've been doing the same starter base for about 10 years now. It's useful, safe and familiar. The only real update I've done to it, is replaced the torches with lanterns. Thanks for the video you have a wonderful day!

Well it definitely looks good but come one that is not a starter base. You need to find oak, spruce, jungle and mangrove wood and at least 5 diamonds for an enchantment table (3 for diamond pickaxe to get obsidian) and 45 leather + 135 paper for the bookshelves and you also need to go to the nether and find a nether fortress........ If you do all of that before you have some kind of base I am really impressed.

Well, you could absolutely build the basic base--you don't _have_ to use mangrove trees or jungle fence, but could substitute whatever is available near your spawn--and have pre-made spaces ready for the more advanced stuff as you get it.

In my mind, there's the cube of dirt you build the first night so you don't die, and then there might be a beginning house that's really basic, but your starter _base_ is when you have enough stuff to think of storage and work areas, and are read;y for more than just a box with your bed, a chest, a crafting table and a furnace.
