In the US, it just about 13'2" long x 7'8" tall and 14'5" Radius. Great build! Thanks for the video.

This was am awesome instructional. I'm making just a bmx ramp so 1.8m tall, probably 4m radius and 3.5m long. Don't want to make it too steep as it's going to be used for pitty as well. Thanks for taking the time to show us

I’ve been wanting to learn welding for a few years now for the main purpose of building skate ramp structures. What’s the learning curve to pull off what you’ve done here? Think it’s worth my effort? Or should I just stick w wood? Also price.. what would be cheaper/cost effective? Thanks in advance!

@BertoBoyd G'day mate. The way I look at it is this. You might spend a bit more on your first ramp if you go out and buy a welder and steel and learn how to do it, but you'll always have the welder and learning a new skill is always very satisfying and you'll have that for life too. Get a decent MIG that uses gas (you can get cheap gasless migs but gas gives you a better weld), watch KZbin tutorials and take your time. Im still a pretty shit welder but I can get the job done to a level that's fine for this sort of thing. I did end up building a timber ramp exactly the same and I enjoyed both options. As for price I'm really not sure. I got a great price on the steel back then, and both timber and steel prices have gone crazy so I really can't tell you what's the best option price wise sorry. Either way you go, have fun and let me know how it goes. Cheers

How do you know when the radius is just right while using the roller?
@ShanePennicuik4 жыл бұрын
I marked out the radius on the driveway with the paint then just kept laying the steel down over it until it matched. Just take your time, it’s easy to bend some more, not easy to un bend haha

How did you calculate the Radius?
@TroutFishingAustralia5 ай бұрын
how much was the steel?
@recklessrider14485 ай бұрын
@TroutFishingAustralia a lot cheaper back than when I built it, plus I have a mate that's a welder so I got it cheap through his contacts. I think it was only $300 and I had heaps left over, but it would be a lot more now with the massive rise in prices
