I got an 8x5x6 outdoor enclosure, with 10 inch deep substrate(organic top soil, compost, and cypress mulch), also has uvb and live plants. How much long and deep of a tub/pond does an adult mangrove monitor need in this enclosure?
@naturalenclosure42352 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a dope enclosure man. Honestly, the size of the pond can be based off your preference. Such a big enclosure like the one you have, I’d have a pond at least two and a half feet long and if possible a foot deep. Keep in mind your filtration system is very important with large ponds such as the one I’m describing. But shout out to you man for taking care of your mangrove. Hope the enclosure turns out dope 🤙🏼

what size enclosure is this? and how long can they stay in it? also i’m curious to know where you got your mangrove because he seems really tame
@naturalenclosure42353 жыл бұрын
I think it was a 36x18x12. Something like that. She was able to stay in the enclosure for about 9 months. I got her at Repticon and socialized her right away. Just make sure you do it on the monitors own terms. I never handled her forcefully. 🤙🏼

www.petsmart.com/reptile/habitats-and-decor/terrariums/exo-terra-natural-terrarium-reptile-habitat-14957.html That’s the link to the enclosure. For bigger animal lizards it’s good to just build your own enclosure. I’ll be doing a video soon on how to build one.

How is it tame at that age? Captive born?
@naturalenclosure42352 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don’t know if it’s captive bread or not but what I did was made sure I handled her often. Whether it was feeding her with tongs constantly to build trust and I would let her come to me without force handling.
