Your videos really inspire me. I have become complacent about computer work over the years but now I’m excited again. I have to admit, when I switched 12 years ago from windows to Mac I did not try to learn the in’s and out’s of Mac, but your tutorials explain everything I need to know. Also super excited to get my new MBP in the mail in about 3 weeks. Great work, keep it up.

Thanks Gary. This is clear as ever. I realize I have an application for a timeline just like this. Also in explaining this you have clarified so many things for me about customizing charts. You probably made a video about charts before. I will look at that.

I truly wanted this to work for my timeline but I couldn't get past 3:13. My color dots just dropped off the page and I could not get them back. I even closed out the APP and restarted it. This was not an epic fail because I learned working in the APP is a waste of my time. Microsoft is a better APP for this situation. I continue to use my Apple for art projects and Windows for real business applications.

Gary thank you so much for these lessons!! Please can you help with this issue, I'm dying with frustration... I've created a clever filter using boolean values on a checking account spreadsheet in numbers - the filter works great - but when I enter a new row it removes the cell formula. So every time I want to enter a new transaction I have to disable the filter so the cell formula stays intact. Is there no I can fix this? Thank you so much

When I use this technique with my own data, when I turn on 'show series names' they appear as expected next to the points, but also at 0,0. Everything is in duplicate. So there's a bunch of overlapping names at 0,0, which really shouldn't be there at all. (And no symbols at 0,0 - just names.) When I change the table so all Ys are on the same row, and so there is one row with one X and many Ys, it works as expected. Very odd.

Can you do a video that covers how to do this but at the day month/day level? E.g. 5/11, 5/26 etc

The same idea should with with any dates you want to use. Try it. Play around.
