Fantastic work. If you could get a couple of small star destroyers to sit below death star at different positions then it would finish it off imo
@OutworldAtelierАй бұрын
Thanks for the compliment! I've been thinking about similar things as well, but @quadpop4643 here in the comments rightly remarked that the sheer scale of the Death Star II (also I but II is even bigger) that the would be pin points, and even the huge Executor would be around 4mm only! (Thanks for those calculations, by the way, Quadpop!)
@Kevlar18711 күн бұрын
Looks great! I think it would have been cool to use some type of neon rod to make it look like the death star was firing, and double as the support holding it up.
@OutworldAtelier11 күн бұрын
Hi Kevin. True but that would leave the dish in a different angle (pointing down) making the overall shape of the DSII less recognisable. Maybe within a box so that the support would be at the angle the dish is in, and a box because I would need to hide the wires. Options options :-)

@louiepenyaАй бұрын
This is seriously awesome! You could make this a series! If I may suggest, it would be great if you could do a clear tube at a slight angel and use that filament wire as a green laser FROM the deathstar. That way it would hide the support and make it a bit more dynamic. Great job!
@OutworldAtelierАй бұрын
Thank you! There are some options but I wanted something vertical, and because the laser comes from the dish, I would have to rotate the DS downwards, and then the windows would look like everything is slanted (it's not of course, because of gravity) but the outside appearance would have been weirder. I am planning something with a Star destroyer down the future, though! Hope you stay tuned!
@pebblesthecat3625Ай бұрын
This is just awesome dude ! The only thing that could have made it better would have been that it slowly rotated, with a miniscule, thin, tiny, laser beam occasionally shooting out from the Death Star at random intervals. Please make another that's a little bigger, with tiny X-Wing and Tie fighters flying around the Death Star with little lasers shooting out here and there. This has so much potential for creating other buildings and crafting other ideas, it's simply an amazing idea with so much potential to do other things. Such a well made video that sent sparks of creativity through my brain while watching it - something no other video has ever done, so congratulations on doing something unique and very interesting.
@OutworldAtelierАй бұрын
@@pebblesthecat3625 thank you Pebbles! It’s very rewarding that my video inspired humans and felines alike! There are definitely things that can still be done with the death star and will probably explore them in the future. X-wings and TIE fighters are very small however. I’m actually planning a wall-mounted trench run somewhere down the line. Similar to my 1st video but now the tables have turned (oh and better quality of course) Thanks you for the compliments! Hope you like my other stuff on the channel as well!

Cool, very nice. Now, take away the pole by drilling a tiny hole in the top of the glass and putting some really light fishing line through it to hold up the deathstar. Then, replace the simple leds with addressable wrgb leds, and put an esp32 based single board computer in the base running wled. Then it would look exceptional.

That’s a pretty awesome idea!

If you hang the Death Star from fishing line, how would you get power to the addressable LED's?

@@squishybrain been thinking too. You can put a button battery inside the deathstar, but that’s with the dome it would be a hassle to turn in. You should make one with the stand being the beam destroying a planet.
@OutworldAtelierАй бұрын
Hi Matthew, I actually contemplated that. But then I watched this awesome video by Corridor Crew where they scale the Death Star compared to Earth. And it's pretty small. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppDXhnmVn9uHeKc . So, I went with a more 'stylistic' base instead. Since the difference is so big, I wouldn't even be able to show a planet's curvature. That said! It's a dream to make a room-sized diorama of a planet getting obliterated by the Death Star! Just to show a sense of scale. Because the Death Star is massive, but it's a tiny ball compared to a planet. And the sense of scale would make it insane and show the drama and pure devastation that thing could do.
@matthewhibbard9807Ай бұрын
@ thanks for linking that. I’ll check it out. Yeah. The Death Star is small even compared to moons. Your base look great though.
