Very nice and I am certain your boys will love it. Only possible problem I see is the fact that you actually attached it to a tree. Every tree moves with the wind. And that is a problem waiting to happen. It works every joint loose over time. I realize a tree house usually is in a tree. But a more solid and permanent tree house is either totally in the tree, or nothing attached to a tree. If it is built entirely in the tree, than all the joints move at the same time. If it is built not attached to a tree than the wind doesn't move any joint... But very nicely built all the same!

Very cool! Looks like a great build. We did the same with our old fort! Had to tear the old one from when we were younger. Family moved and built another so our sons can enjoy a good fort.

I now have the knowledge to build my own. I think you should build something underneath the treehouse considering you have that space under there and could even build a lower level and then from the lower lever you climb up to the top, have a couch and some other cool stuff lower level

@@ProjectDadLife This summer I'm building a TreeHouse for my daughter. I watch your TreeHouse videos so many time at this point, I could probably rehearse the whole thing by hearth ^^. Trying to learn as much as possible from your build... including the "don't loose your thumb" part ;)

What fasteners did you use in the board tied to the tree trunks? I’m looking to do something similar but not willing to pay tree anchor bolt pricing.

first... love the dedication yo put into giving your kids the adventures kids should have... just awesome! next: couple of questions: 1. when you set the braces in the cement footers, do you make the braces on one footer perpendicular to the other? meaning 90 degrees rotated-- this would help eliminate any in-plane sway if the big supporting posts are vibrated during normal use w the boys up on the platform... and end up rotating in the same way on their anchored end which could cause collapse of the platform. If not the only thing resisting this rotational sway is the sheering strength of the two wood screws holding the 2x10 support beams (a single screw would allow easy rotation, allowing the two posts to shift right or left into a parallelogram; the second one resists that rotation, so it's just one screw that's keeping it plumb vertical... that's not ideal). I didn't see you add any right-angle stiffeners from big post to supporting beam: these are easy to add and will resist the rotational vibration, adds safety that you want if the boys have a crew over all at once up there. 2. Also re the attachment of the supporting beams... are the beams attached to the posts only w screws? if so the entire weight of the floor is held up by the shearing strength of the wood screws. The screws are strong, but there are two better (safer) ways to ensure long-term structural integrity. Use Bolts through the 2x10 beams through the 8x8s-- bolts have much higher shearing strength than screws. Or, slap 2x8 or 2x6 boards up against the 8x8s to butt up right under the 2x10 beams; in this way the weight from the entire structure is transferred down the posts to the ground and supported by those slapped on boards; this is what I do for my structures when kids are going to be playing up top. Wood screws attaching the boards to the posts only have to attach and are not supporting ANY shearing weight at all... WAY safer. This utilizes screws for their fastener purpose and not as shear-strength devices.

Setting directly on top of beam would been better. Notch beam appropriately for the 2x8 or 10”s to sit on beam. Forgot what was used.

Yes it’s staggered! Not sure if that’s right but it’s easier to end nail them versus toenail it.

You lost me at plum bob. Looking to build my girls a treehouse but I don’t know none if these leveling and squaring techniques. Didn’t think it’d be so technical. Was just looking to slap it together lol. How about a video on plum bobbing and squaring??
