That pickguard is cool, matching the control cover is fantastic.

Nice! I have a white pearloid pickguard on a Telecaster and it's robbing tone, or at least adding some static. It's probably unnoticeable to anyone else but I will probably go back to the sun faded original (with a giant, unfaded spot where the previous owner(s) never took off the fender shield sticker, until before selling it to me). Other than that I love the faded parchment guard. It has a strat neck pu so it's harder to find nicely worn used guards without sticker shapes burnt in.

That thing looks really cool. My first reaction when you put that last pick card on it I said Yep that’s the one you said it right as I said it so I’m very tempted.

Tortoise shell pickguards make teles sound better, while a white single ply works better for strats. Of course, for Les Paul style guitars, just take it off.

Yep! That’s the ticket Dylan. I think it is great. In fact it’s so close to my Affinity Strat pick guard that I chose just to get that guard that I ended up with an HSS rather than SSS. Course it was the middle of Covid-19 so beggars can’t be choosers. Love your finished Tele and I generally don’t like Teles. Nice color with the clear pups. PS: Love your CNC.

Pickguard looks cool as is. Nice little project. How are you going to adjust the neck pickup height? I'm curious!

Hey Dylan, have you ever made or considered making a low impedance dummy coil, like Ilitch or Ulbrick? I think the idea is genius and I'm considering how to make my own right now. Trying to see if there's a way I can wind it into my tele scratch plate.

The laser is cool, can it cut the bevel on 3 ply?

Does the laser cut a beveled edge on the pickguard?

Nope, its the pickup ring and screws. Just kidding Dylan. Hey I have an custom Japan model Ibanez RG550 and its HSH and I cannot for the life of me find a replacement pick guards for it that I can change the plate to an HSS. Anyway you can do a customized plate for me if I traced it on paper and sent it to you to cut out?

This stuff is all subjective, and it's cool to see you stretching that creative design muscle and trying new things with the incredible tools you have at your disposal...but for me personally, when it comes to guitar aesthetics...FLASHIER=TRASHIER. HAHAHA! That Lazer is 100% badass though.

incorrect. tone is in the wavelength of UV light directed at the gloss finish during curing. lol.

Laser's and CNC, for those who can't make things by hand. Sorry, couldn't resist, I am so used to content where some guy takes a chunk of raw wood and wrestles it into an amazing guitar or takes a 30's acoustic guitar and does an in-depth repair. This is more like deciding which doily to put on an Ikea coffee table with generic electronica to make you seem to have a production crew. BTW if you were going to make the pickguard and control plate out of the same material why not make it one piece? Is this just a pickguard file you downloaded or did you create the file? Stick to winding bobbins.
@DylanTalksTone4 ай бұрын
You must be old… no, I created the files myself.
