June 24, 2020---Thanks for the how to video as you went in an entirely different direction than I did. Built a 30', 1/35th scale watch tower a few years ago to use in a zombie/apocalypse diorama. And no, didn't finish the diorama as I had some stuff happen and ended up giving it to my nephew who plays D&D. Anyway, mine had 2 sections like yours, but I "cheated" in having a ladder from the ground, going up to the first level, with another ladder going from the first level to the 2nd. Used round dowels on the 4 corners as I figured it'd be more realistic to use them than milled wood....you know, using telephone poles. The 2 floors and roof had support beams with wood on top of them. I based my tower from photos of them during the Vietnam war, along with fire watch towers. Used some wood stain I had laying around. In watching your video, now understand how to put in stairs, though mine will be a bit different. Also would like to put a set of stairs that could be raised ala the castle drawbridge kind of thing. I also bought a 1/35th scale German WW 2 spotlight and will attempt to build smaller versions of spotlights via photos from Google.

The inner meshed core is a brilliant idea. But the tower isn't built from an engineer point of view but rather an artist. The engineer would've started by meshing the inner tower first to the top. Then would've led down the top slab. Finally he would've build the stairs from the bottom up.

The flat roof is a cop out. looks awful. putting a pitched roof on with singles and painting it might be worthy of praise but this falls short, imo. it feels unfinished, like you didn’t really care about it.

Next time don't say "how to build" unless "how to make" cause I don't want to see kid making stuff at the first upper of my video!
