Hey Matt. I just started these chairs 2 days ago and it felt like a year sin ce I ordered the plans. I noticed my first comment was only 7 months ago so I feel much better about it not being a year in the making. I am almost done and your video hs been on for 2 days start guiding me. Special thanks for the inconspicuous double tap on the 9 and 2/8s for the seat support angle. I COULD NOT FIGUE THAT OUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME.. THANKS AGAIN. THEY ARE TURNING OUTY GREAT. AND IM TYPING ON MY OLD MAC SHOP COMPUTER AND SOMETIMES IT GOS ROGE~ ALL CAPS😂 MAYBE SAW DUST?

I have the old templates and they look awesome as well. Thanks for the video of how you make them. I use Cabot Timber Oil on mine as they sit outside. Thompsons is mostly paint thinner

Cool, didn’t realize they had different style templates. I’ll have to check out the Cabot oil sometime 👍🏻

Just ordered the plans with mdf and footstool and table. How many bf in 4/4 will I need? Great vid. Thanks
@mmcc_woodshop6288 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The manual recommends the following per chair: 1x2x8' (x4) 1x4x8' (x3) 2x4x8' (x2) 2x6x8' (x1) 2x8x8' (x1) Calculated out that's about 47 bdft of 4/4. If you can get thicker stock I would definitely recommend doing so - if 4/4 is all you have access to, I'd probably get ~60 bdft in order to have a little extra.

Hi, i want your personal plan. Can you give us the dimensions?
@mmcc_woodshop62886 ай бұрын
Hey, I wish I could, but this design is made by Rockler - I don’t feel that it’s proper to share the details of their design personally. The templates are completely worth the price, in my opinion at least 👍🏻

Great video. I started building these almost four years ago and then got busy with other projects. I finally decided to finish them and was searching KZbin to see how people dealt with the third back support curved piece. The instructions have it screwed in from the back, the pictures from the front, and it looks like you left it off entirely.

Thanks! Yeah, I realized I forgot the back stretcher after the video was already up 🤦🏻♂️ The chairs have held up fine without it so far, I’d probably use screws from the back if I was to attach it

Would you be willing to stain and gloss a gun stock if I sent it out to you?

Hey Edward! I appreciate the opportunity but I’m not taking hardly any custom requests currently due to my regular workload, sorry!

I’ve made several of these and considered selling them, but the amount of time to make them I’d have to sell them for $700+. Granted I use expensive marine grade products and Malaysias hardwood for the arms. More a work of art than a chair.
@mmcc_woodshop62888 ай бұрын
I guarantee that! If they’re made from nice wood, I think you could justify the price 👍🏻

I am retracting my previous comment. I am NOT all most done. who wrote these instructions and where is the 4 1/2 inch measurement from the legs to the front of the chair in the directions? am I the idiot that can't follow simple instructions or are these total garbage? I think b and that's why you make it a point tho show these measurements. WOW MAN. THANK YOU AGAIN
@chrisweigand18177 ай бұрын
WHERE ARE THESE MEASURMENTS YOU KEEP TALKING ABOUT IN THE INSTRUCTIONS???? ON THE PAGE WITH THE STEP BY STEP I GOT NO MEASURMNTS AND YOU WENT TO FAST FOR THE BACK SUPORTS. 10 1/2?????
@chrisweigand18177 ай бұрын
WARNING!!!!!!!! DON NOT USE THIS GUYS MEASUREMENTS!!! THE MEASURMENTS HE IS TALKING ABOUT ARE ON PAGE 6 AT THE BOTTOM OF STEP B
@chrisweigand18177 ай бұрын
FOUND IT AT THE BOTTUM STEP B. SO LAME
@chrisweigand18177 ай бұрын
WELL SHIT!!!!! THOSE MEASURMENTS DONT MATCH YOURS AT ALL. YOUR 4 1/4 FOR THE FRONT LEGS IS 3 1/2 ON THERE DIRECTIONS SO THAT EPLANES WHY I HAD TO RECUT THE ANGLE ON THE SEAT SUPORTS! I THOUGHT I WAS OF ON MY ANGLE BUT I WENT BUY YOUR MEASUREMENT OF 4 1/12 SO MY ANGLE WAS CORRECT!@ I JUST WAISTED 2 FUCKING HOURS MAN! UNFOLLOWING DUDE THANKS
