On bedrock the keycard doesnt pop out on the dispenser that is on top it only pops out below. Just destroy the dispenser on top

@@seriously4076 the instructions call for 8 “keycards” but that didn’t work. But if you use 9 “keycards” the door lock worked as intended.

If this doesn't work for you, try filling the droppers and the bottom hopper with copies of your keycard in max stacks. idk why this makes it work but it just does ig. by the way i think they removed the weird little mechanic with droppers where it moves materials between them if a dropper is triggered, so just delete the top dropper and you should be fine.

@@destreader13._.2 i figured a way for it to work, remove the bottom dropper and hopper and direct the top hopper into the top dropper, then fill the dropper with 9 stacks of your keycard and do the same with the top hopper as shown in the video

you could do multiple keycard filters with a line of hoppers above so if it doesn't fit on one it goes to the next, etc.

I just used this to build a mini shop for my server! Instead of a door, I placed a dispenser facing the front filled with an item of value. We can throw whatever currency we decide an item costs into the hopper, and that front-facing dispenser will give us the item we "bought." And instead of the two dispensers facing up, I faced the top one towards the back so it will not return the currency item to us and instead will eject the payment (into the void...).

@@user-dw1fr Because we don’t want to retrieve the payment item afterwards. There’s no reason to collect the payments since we will not be reusing them. Once we toss the payment item into the machine, that’s it.

@iMineCrazy when i built it a first time it worked just fine, but when i build it a second time for some reason the keycard doesn't pop out of the dispenser, it pops out onto the first comparator that you place, any thoughts on how to fix this? im on java 1.19.2

Thank you for this i did a change where I flip the droppers upsidedown and put a hopper under them into a chest so the key could never be recovered but when at that chest, used it to connect to to a command block if people buy a ticket and throw it (say into a dragon's mouth) it will unlock something for them (in game currency btw)

I just did this with a 3x3 door. Keycard reader from here>Flip flop switch setup> 3x3 door trigger. Its pretty cool

Yes it is, you would need to build two keycard systems and tie them into an AND gate, then the AND gate will open the door when both keycards are accepted.

No it doesn’t, but it has to stack to 16, so empty buckets, eggs, signs, honey bottles, banners, written books, Ender pearls, and armor stands all work

Sorry, I have to agree with the others that this does not work on Java. (I don't know about Bedrock). The paper shoots out just fine, but the door does not open. Using my own knowledge of redstone, I played with the redstone for a while, finally getting the door to open.

@@JAstro-tp9phBeen a few months since I did it, so I don't remember all the details. I do remember I had to change up how the redstone connected by using a "NOT gate". There are video tutorials about "NOT gates" which once were the main way we used to turn off and on sections of redstone back in the day. There are new ways to do things now, but I went old school when fixing this issue.
