Very interesting. I was not aware of these types of bolts. I learn something everyday. Thanks for the response and the fantastic videos. It is no small feat to shoot, edit, and review 7 videos. Happy new year sir!

Nice truck, a heck of a difference between this and an Volvo or Scania of the late 1960's or early 1970's, and automatic transmission, never would have believed it then, Keep on turning out beautiful trucks

Huck bolts are used in situations where a normal bolt and nut might vibrate loose. The huck bolt and nut once tightened, can't be backed off like a normal bolt.

Hi Gregg, These videos are superb. Quick question.... more of a curiosity thing really.... why do you folks melt off the hex bolts with the gas axe as opposed to just removing the bolt? I can imagine after 500-700k... these can be stuck on there pretty well so it may be a quicker/easier solution to removing the axles/suspension. Thanks for the great videos... I cannot wait to watch the rest.

It lifts 11,000 lbs. It is pretty impressive to watch it lift the front!

If I wanted to keep it as a tandem axel could I?
@rvhaulers9 жыл бұрын
+Mason Rhea Yes, you can keep it tandem, however, in most states and Canadian provinces a dual axle RVHauler is considered a truck, not a motorhome. The main reason we remove one axle is the vehicle can be driven with a standard drivers licence (not a commercial drivers license). Also, a two axle truck can usually be re-titled as a motorhome. The insurance is far less expensive, we don't have to keep a drivers log, and we don't have to stop at weigh scales. BUT if you want two axles (and perhaps already have your commercial drivers license) tandem axle it is for you!

In Texas you just need to modify inside of truck with living quarters to be considered a RV which wouldn't be hard to do in a sleeper. Some class A motorhomes have tandems. I'd keep the tandems as well. You don't need a CDL but getting a Class A non commercial license would be a good idea. Check your state because it varies.

Aww dang, did KZbin make you bleep-out the mechanic's native tongue? It's not cursing, it's mechano-speak.
