Man, I just had some dental work done and I'm not able to play for a couple weeks. It's killing me. I truly understand how much I love my trumpet now. As I said before, you're are a great teacher. Thank you and all other professionals on YT. It's free info that we can play with and helps a lot when you choose to self teach..urself

It can be tempting to come back too soon, but you definitely don't want to rush the recovery process for dental work. But it's really cool to hear how passionate you are about the trumpet. I'm glad you're connecting with the content I'm sharing and that I can help you grow!

I feel you man, I'm in my first year in uni and I've never had braces, my teeth are fucked but I at least I can keep playing currently saving for invisaline, I see it as the best option for me lol

@ianquinones1197 I'm in the same boat ha ha . I actually did invisaline too. But I had a root canal done way before I started playing. The doctor said it never healed right, so a front tooth had to go! Now I have to wait months for a replacement 😩. I tried to play a bit yesterday and it's a joke. I'm going to wait until the work is all done and build my chops back up then. Until then, I'll watch YT videos while I look like a hockey player

@trumpettradesman that sucks dude but I do want to ask, how was the playing with the invisaline, are you allowed to play with it in or so you take it out when you play or practice?
@trumpettradesman3 күн бұрын
@ianquinones1197 I did the invisaline before I started playing, but I would definitely just pop them out when playing. I would assume it would be near impossible to play with them in. Good luck bro

Your videos are the best I've seen on KZbin about how to play the trumpet well. The advice, demonstrations, and exercises you give are absolutely spot on. I look forward to seeing more. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for all of your videos, as I'm preparing for my senior recital in my undergrad and grad school auditions, watching you has been a great help and inspiration. Your Intrada video has helped me a TON, and I was so excited to see the ewazen on your album (I'm playing both of those!)

I try to hit the note like Bud would -- without fear. And if I miss, I'll miss the note how Bud would want me to -- without fear.
@RyanBeachtrumpet6 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's paradoxical, but if you play high notes with trepidation, you're more likely to miss than if you just commit and go after it

when i want to play in the upper register i start by playing high notes
@RyanBeachtrumpet6 күн бұрын
For sure, you have to spend time in the upper register to get better. For some, starting in the upper register can cause problems if they aren't able to support or center very well.

its just how i do it me, (i respect ur doing it real rn btw (how is your jobb????)) hf!

I’m confident in my upper register until my chops go numb and the buzzing stops. 😕
@dantheman38255 күн бұрын
Its such a sad moment man
@RyanBeachtrumpet3 күн бұрын
Yeah, I can imagine how that would hold you back. Chops going numb could be overplaying, too much mouthpiece pressure due to weaker corners, or maybe your embouchure isn’t set up quite right.

Ryan I like that your not a show off like sime if these trumpet player on You tube that say here do this ...then they play super high and dont explain what they are doing.I had known several 1st trumpet players in my playing from high school on .Some of them were so arrogant and rude .I had one fellow who walked out on a rehearsal because he didnt want to play with me , when the rest of the section left early .
@RyanBeachtrumpet3 күн бұрын
Thanks for that feedback. My main goal is that these videos are actually helpful. I’m glad you think they are!

Yes they are helpful .Gives me food for thought ,between you and my teacher .I learned quiet a bit.Sorry about my comment about trumpet players arrogance .I guess I shouldn't let it get to me.
