How to build and throw a paint stick boomerang

Hi Vic, wanted to say thanks for your tutorial on this many years ago. Had great fun building these with my friend with those giant paint sticks at Lowe's and they were extremely sturdy and easy to throw for a beginner. Wanted to say, I also made a more traditional boomerang by cutting those giant paint sticks in half and just laying them at a 90 degree L formation and bonding with wood glue. Flies great and has held up. Might be another idea for you to put out there as a tutorial.

@@VictorPoulin me and my dad were throwing it as hard as we could at one point and it spun really fast and good at first but it just loses its momentum due to wind resistance i guess. unless i have messed up the steps i can only guess the paint sticks i have access to here in australia are lighter and wider and therefore just don't work. the paint sticks also have bigger cutouts for the handles so maybe that has something to do with it?

@@notyou6674 Good information. Try and add some weight to the boomerang. There are different ways to achieve this. You can add some tape along the bottom side of all the wings until you get the desired flight. You can tape a small coin near the tips of the wings.
