Looks like a neat project and you did a great job. But from a smoking/cooking POV it seems like not enough bang for buck. With that much brick I'd like to be able to smoke a pig or two.

I say if you make a smoke house> make it a house to do it all RITE? It would grill, smoke as well as hot water, steam heating, and be able to hang 2 full hogs for smoken

Witam. Super robota. Mam pytanie. Po co te 2 otwory w grillowisku? czy z grilla jest odejście do komina w wędzarni? czy dym będzie pozbywamy właśnie dzięki tym 2 otworom?! Jak się wędzi, bo czytam wiele negatywnych komentarzy o wstawieniu rury pomiędzy paleniskiem a samą komorą wędzarniczą. To samo piszą, aby nie stosować drzwiczek do rusztu, mam dokładnie takie jak ty tutaj do odrestaurowania ze starego domu. Pozdrawiam

Hi, it is mineral wool, I did put it to keep the pipe warm winter time, just wrap the pipe with mineral wool and then wrap it with twine.

Witam, Te 17 cegieł ułożyłem na stalowym płaskowniku, widać go na filmie... jest on dosyc głeboko że nie widac go po skonczeniu, musiałem podłozyc wsporniki bo sie wyginal pod ciazarem cegiel, wtedy pomiedzy cegly wsynalem zaprawe z gory dosyc zadka... nastepnie wszystko od srodka bylo zalane betonem zbrojonym takze te cegly glownie trzyma beton ktorym je od tylu zalalem. a w puste miejsce wsypalem keramzyt, bo balem sie ze jak calosc zalaje betonem to bedzie za ciezkie, keramzyt jest lekki i dodatkowo izoluje rure

@@MiniBikesStore Yea i was kinda wondering why no arches for the openings ? Also wouldn't you want to put more fire-bricks in the smoke chamber to hold in more heat as the meat cooks ? I'm no bricklayer but i've done a ton of construction so been around a lot of job-sites and guys laying brick (I did mostly dirt-work, foundations and compaction), but anyway, just curious. Very impressive build though.

Im a bricklayer too and it confused me not seeing any angle iron over the openings... My guess is that it will last maybe a year before those head joints start cracking and brick start to come loose at those points. It may be longer depending on how often he uses it

They are firebrick but they dont retain heat... They deflect it rather to protect the brick

Yeah pretty much. If they get too hot the clay expands and cracks.
