How To Build Custom SEQUENTIAL LED Tail Lights - Nissan GTR

Almost nobody out there has really seen the process of custom building sequential LED lights. You may have seen the end result floating around Instagram and Facebook, but the process of going from stock lights to fully modified wiring, isn't really something you'll find a guide, or a kit to help you with.
If I were to break this down into steps, it'd look like this:
1. Open the lights
2. Trace down all power and ground wires for each LED
3. Strip, solder and heatshrink all ground wires, each with its own resistor
4. Connect all power wires together
5. Solder ribbon cable with connector for Ghozt sequencers
6. Reassemble and Reseal the Lights
7. Build Wire Harness to power Ghozt

If you did a course that would be awesome and much appreciated by lots of people looking to do this to their own vehicles.

Can't you run a common positive wire from controller board and daisy-chain the LEDs inside the lamp body? Would be easier and neater if you could.
@jdeluca6181
@jdeluca6181 5 жыл бұрын
It looks like each individual LED needs its own independent source of power from the ghost module to utilize the sequential modes. I don't think a single power source daisy chained would work.

Thanks for sharing these videos. I build props for movies and haunted attractions and have done a couple of sets of 2015+ Charger headlights. Question about your method for wiring each LED ground to the ribbon cable you use to plug into the module. Why not just build the 30 pin connector with the wires coming out of the tail lights? By that I mean, instead of soldering each wire to a wire on the ribbon cable, just push the wire from the tail light into the ribbon connector and clamp it down. The metal clips inside will make a connection to the wire and it'll look much cleaner.

Also, can you give us a link to where we can purchase the required resistors? Thank you once again!

Do you prefer the ghozts sequential controler or Corsomotion? I ordered last week from both of them ghozts sent them a day latter corwo 8 days latter but I accidently ordered the new led strips instead of the controller because I had been driving for the last 17 hours from Indiana home and was tired didn't notice what I kept in the cart. Asked them to change it since they had plenty of time but they didn't. So I'm wondering which you think is better cuz I might give them another chance if they have better controllers.
@flyryde

You accidentally made a really good move. I would play with those LED strips and the ghozt. The Corsomotion controller is awesome too, but it sounds like your mistake may have been for the best.
