Yeah, I bet that would work too! It might make it a bit harder to line everything up to get it on though. Luckily this has held up well, but you could totally try it with a second hook!

Screws holding the hinges to the 2x6s look a bit too long...sticking out the other side! otherwise neat solution.

Do you know if the max weight capacity for those hooks is the same if they are not attached to the ceiling? Kind of surprised her hook bent with that one bike. Usually they can hold at least 50 lbs.
