IMPORTANT NOTICE: The way I melted the electrodes into the glass is wrong. Watch this video to see how it's done correctly: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn2oipSMlLOfaLM

it's best not to use diodes to light the gas in small tubes like this. the reason it stopped working at first is because the diode burns up the gas, this doesn't matter so much with big signs because they have so much gas. igniting a small tube has to be done with a tesla coil. the tuve would stop working due to normal leakage after like 20 years. If you want it to glow, I'd build a small slayer exciter without sharp edges on its top

I would be interested to see a tube filled with a radioactive gas.

You can use argon, welding gas is cheap and fairly pure. Cold bare tungsten will sputter, so you should make it hot cathode with barium oxide emissive coating.

I need couple simple vacuum diodes such as a filament and an anode inside a glass tube. If your lab can make them, I will buy. Please let me know. Thanks

To understand correctly A. Are the electrodes separated at either end of tube or from one side ? B. When you vacuum the tube and seal it I assume the light comes from small amount of air left in the tube ?

Would u build me a plasma bulb? Argon filled for a rife machine I've currently built?

Why do you need an argin bulb for that🤔 I'm planning to sell some tubes with neon in the future. But without any electrodes.

Will it works with plastic tube (just curious)
@thesciencefurry
@thesciencefurry 24 күн бұрын
@@OngVoELstuffs08 It would most likely not. Gas will diffuse into the tube. Also the plasma is hot so it would melt the plastic.

Do you happen to know where someone can buy neon gas online?

I saw some on ebay. But I will be expensive no matter where you get it.

@@thesciencefurry you could use helium or argon if you cant get that then maybe hydrogen
