I now have done a bit of testing with cornbread and have got a working way of placing any Item not just on the freighter but also in Space and probably on space stations that stay there after reloading.

@@ViggaTron yes, but it's very inconsistent. You need to reload a save point at a specific place before the base is visible. You can also have multiple bases stacked in the same place. Depending on which manual save point you load yiu get a different base

Also I will like to add something if you get anything to work remember if you warp away from that system or move your freighter it gets rid of it this is not permanent this is literally if you just want to jump off your ship in a mech after wasting 20 minutes.

Okay I have a imperial class capital ship and I cannot figure out where to place these things because when I go back to my shift they disappear and I can't interact with them they don't even show up so maybe it doesn't work on all freighter types have you tested that? It lets me place it on the freighter, but I can’t move it after that. Just says it’s out of range and then deletes it. Is there a fix for this? I’m on PS4. Don’t know if that’s it or not.

I have a problem with this method as my base computer never turns green when I reach my frigate. If I toggle to the wire it stays red, too. “Outside of base limit” is what it says. I’ve watched Cornbread’s videos and reviewed the comments. Do you have a suggestion for this issue? I’m on PS5 if it makes a difference.

yes, but they disappear after reload (unless you use a very complicated and unreliabe method to let them stay)

I did it and then everything disappears on a return visit and i cant delete the base i put on the frigate. Thanks. Ed: its been quite a while now, i am less concerned about the undeletable base, but I wish there was a way to clean it up, and I wish they added this as a legit feature on freighters

Considering the Minotaur massacres in the Anomaly when people were building the geobay on the freighters and glitching into the Anomaly, I doubt they'd be willing to reintroduce the idea anytime soon

The BC gets deleted on PS5. I went up 3 times. Thought I'd made a mistake first time. Second time to make sure, and on the third time I placed a nutrient processor first, which remained on the frigate. The BC is always gone though.

Or we could all go to the feedback page at hello games and politely once request that they make base material available on freighters and freighter parts available on bases. They might ignore such a request if a dozen people make it, not hundreds of people do. Again my fellow Travelers just one polite request per person; you can even copy and paste the second half of my first sentence. They do respond to the 'community' from what I can see.

make sure to build a floor underneath your character before beginning the glitch. If the terrain unloads it'll snap you back, but the floor prevents you from falling and ending your climb

If you are not stable on level ground after a certain height, the rendering of the ground can knock you out of build camera. I had the same problem so I sat on a sofa on the middle of the tile and got up there.
