out of all the DIY light hanging videos utube has suggested, yours is by far the best

I'm so glad I found this video. I've been searching for mounting arms strong enough for my SB Reef FW Lights. Nothing out there that would support the weight of the lights. With this I can build my own. Headed to Home Depot now. Thank you so much for the idea and best of all the savings!

@@hugheymorrow used stronger L brackets due to weight of light. Still under $100, woohoo.

Very pleased by what I was able to make based on this video. I wanted to link 3 kessils together via usb-c cables -- those plus the power cable wouldn't fit in the tube/trim channel shown. So I went up to a 1" square tube. Since there wasn't a matching trim channel, I nested 2 L-shaped corner rods to make the square U-shape. The kessil ring wouldn't fit around this, so I also had to get 1-1/2" key rings. Thanks for the great tutorial!

Dude. I almost wanna take down the tank side kessil arms and replace them with these off wall. Would be a much cleaner look. Great tutorial.

Make sure you install the aluminum on the inside of the bracket not on the outside. Not sure why the OP doesn't add a note but if you install the Aluminum on the outside (as seen at 7:05) you'll find that the sliding aluminum has to face down to slide. You need it facing UP in order to make the divits for the fixture Ring. Proper orientation can be seen laying on the desk @ 8:17. Also same scene shows why the aluminum needs to face UP and not DOWN. Original Poster this was great! I followed this video for my a360x mount. Works well. Waiting to paint, currently sitting outside Primed.

7:05 was just testing the screws and holes. Indeed the end-state assembly is the intended design.
