I love the look of the new light stand! I really don't mind the triangle brackets that the lights will hang from but I'm looking forward to seeing what you switch them out with. I'm not sure how heavy your light stand is but I would look at putting larger washers between the nuts and wood inside the cabinet to reduce the risk of the bolts pulling through the wood. Great job, your tanks are looking great!

Senegal Bichir + African Leaf Fish setup? Potentially African Plants and making a biotope out of it, set it up like the edge of the river from Africa with cool root structures. Could also do a Rope/ Reed fish in there as long as the lid is tight!
@RyoWatanabee4 жыл бұрын
That’s sounds epic!
@JoshRL4 жыл бұрын
@@RyoWatanabee I saw something on a Polypterus (bichir) Facebook group I'm apart of, it was like a super dim lit setup, with insane root structures and just a few Senegals. Looked awesome, and kind-of inspiring if that's the look you'd go for. It would take research and potentially a decent budget to get exact materials from Africa likely, but I haven't looked into it that deep to know all the ins & outs of the costs.

Wow Ryo! Everything is looking fantastic! Love the new light stand and great idea about keeping it away from the side of tank. I agree that the 4' tank would probably be better for you and maintenance. Keep up the good work!

I really like the light stand. It’s so sleek looking. I get the hanging wire problems. It’s something I dislike as well. Like hanging a TV on the wall and having cords dropping down to a plug. 😂 I can’t wait to see how you’re going to scape it!! 👍😊

Nice stand! But it will cover part of the hole for your filter tubes. Possible to offset the lighting position?
@kyu14554 жыл бұрын
Very nice stand, the square profile of the stand actually matches the room really well with the edged wood trim etc. As for light, I think an ONF Flat one would complement the stand really well as the light has a square edged profile and silver stainless finish. Also the wires of the light is wrapped in fabrics to give a sleek look which I know you’d appreciate. My 2 cents.

As a former metal fabricator it’s pretty cool. They probably could’ve used a smaller diameter, but I’m sure they calculated the weight of lights and used what would keep the center from bowing. Maybe you should try raising different kinds of shrimp in the 4 little tanks?
@RyoWatanabee4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I really wanted 3cm by 3cm metal bars. But they only had 4cm by 4cm ones available
@mandyminshull23514 жыл бұрын
Think the Kessell lights always look good when hung on a frame, but they are expensive and I wouldn’t be able to afford them. I also like the way they reflect the water movement on to the walls so something like those would look great I think. Can’t wait to see what sort of scape you do

I think you should get an ornate bichir and put it on that second row. That would be cool. He can be your little buddy in the fish room. I like the light stand. It looks good. If ADA has some hanging lights I would get those or maybe go with some Twinstars if they have some. 👍🏼
@RyoWatanabee4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your advice :) ADA have hanging lights although not cheap. Here in japan it’s about $600 usd a unit. And I would need 2 units over my 4ft tank
@joshhibbs_nola4 жыл бұрын
Ryo Watanabe You’re welcome! I understand about the lights. Maybe try Twinstar and if that is not possible try Aquaillumination Prime Freshwater lights if you are able to get them in Japan. I know the Joey from the King of DIY Fishkeeping I think helped them develop them and they are suppose to be more affordable than most lights out there. I think they are like $209 a piece so for like the price of one ADA you could get almost three of Aquaillumination Primes for freshwater. They come in white or black housings and you can control everything from a smartphone. 👍🏼
@gabrieldemello54494 жыл бұрын
Yo Ryo you should get a beautiful colored snakehead in the 4ft aquarium that you said you might be getting I think that would be dope 👌
