I had to break down my raised beds simply because my neighbor’s old trees (air roots) seeped into the beds and killed all my plants😭 Container gardening is my choice now. Look forward to your upcoming container series.

I'm sure Lily will be a big help when it comes to digging. I agree on the larger walkways. In my first garden, they were only 2'. I made them 3' in my new garden so I could easily get a wheelbarrow between beds. It's also more comfortable for me to sit on my garden bench and work in the beds. I like your 4' walkways but I don't have that much space.

Hey hey from iowaaaaay! When making your pilot holes, drill the outer board just slightly larger than the board it’s screwed to, but small enough that the the head of the screw sets on the board, thus drawing the boards together, as opposed to pushing them apart. Kind of a three-step process: hole the size of the screw shank through both pieces, hole the width of the threads (outside board only), screw in the screw. I hope that makes sense! Good job Lilly! You go girl!

If I had the space, however, I would definitely use your Raised Bed ideas to the “T!”☺️ As for Lilly, I think she likes your Lime Light.😂 I loved the way she met your challenge to earn money by opening up her Road Stand🤣🤣🤣 Perhaps she is planning to build her own Raised Beds and grow,🤔 veggies that can be added to her meals.😅

It seems like the roots from that tree are going to steal a lot of water and fertilizer nutrients from those raised beds. I did like the flame-linseed oil preservation technique you suggest. My backyard is very small and there is a very old oak tree (~16-inch diameter trunk) with a small 15-ft by 20-ft canopy taking up about one third of the back yard at the south end. I decided against raised beds in my situation. I'll be covering two thrids of my backyard with same type of weed fabric. I'm designing 3 rows of raised custom built pallets 3-ft wide by 16-ft long and about 1-ft off the ground for use with a container gardening system. I'll use a combination of 5-gal, 7-gal, 10gal, and 15-gal fabric pots and heavy-duty commercial grade nursery pots with a combined overhead drip fertigation and bottom sub-irrigation systems to optimize water use efficiency. Anyway, I'll be adopting and using your wood preservation technique and also subscribed to check out all of your other videos. Thanks for sharing your gardening knowledge.

I'd love to know where to get those stakes. The wind blows up all the stakes in my weed cloth. Granted, they are not weighed down by garden beds, but I do have a few blocks and stones weighing it down. The wind still wins... well, I have a dog who helps. 🤷♀️ I am thinking of putting narrow trenches down the middle of my raised beds and filling them with wood chips to retain water and give me a place to step... and put a 2 gal in-ground mini compost bucket in the center for the worms. I always end up having to step in for something. I may make some narrow beds down my walkway and plant flowers.

A question for you...I am about 100 miles north of you. You mentioned that you were going to bury you water lines for the beds about 2 inches down. Do you have any concerns about the lines freezing/bursting in winter? I know we have that happen every year in our irrigated pasture.
