If you could make roller skates out of ANY pair of shoes in the world... which would you choose?

I would probably make skates out of blendstones. They're an Australian brand of boots.

I really wish he would have shown his process of marking where the holes need to be drilled, I feel like that’s the hardest part! I know there are different preferences but seeing his process would have been so helpful. Great video though, I’ve been looking for a good mounting video for so long!

I love your channel, you and shove are the reason why I just bought a new pair of skates 2 weeks ago. I used always think that I couldn’t learn how to skate because of my size but you guys have taught me that size doesn’t matter. I’m now a week into teaching myself how to skate and I have fallen so much but have also made more progress than I thought I would. I never thought I’d be able to skate, but you showed me that anybody can do it if they want to. Thank you guys so much for inspiring me to start my skating journey!!

What about the tacks in a moxi heel? Can that pose an issue? I had the opportunity to have Nick the Medic mount my plates but declined because I'm stubborn and want to do it myself to learn lol. Also, I can't find one of those bolt "cutting" rods. I can see if I can find something else, though.

Would you do a review video of what you think of your new Antik AR2 skates now that they're done? :)

Very cool. You should consider a drill press. That way you'd never have to worry about the drill migrating when you drill through a tall heel.

In the hopefully near future when I travel back to California and buy my AR2's, I'd want to mount them myself, or at least watch and be involved in the process, with Nick. He seems like the kinda guy that might appreciate my endless love for skate maintenance and ongoing rants about it. :')

@Joy354 жыл бұрын
how did you break them? i just bought a pair
@rosew57594 жыл бұрын
@@Joy35 They're a great skate I definitely recommend them! I have the older model (they've since updated them) and I got them second hand two years ago so it's just use and them being old that lead to the break! The boot slowly started to break down (synthetic materials) and there started to be a tear in the side and it finally gave out and my foot went all the way through the side. I've absolutely thrashed them and they're easily like 4-5 years old so it's just time for a new pair :) They're so good though I loved the support and they were my first pair of skates for street and ramp skating

Where do I find a Snyder??? I need one to break my bolts off😓
If he does this a lot he should build a jig that sits on the table and allows you to fit the shoe on to it upside down. It would hold the shoe flat and keep the drill bit from going in to far or damaging the shoe like he mentioned could be an issue. It would also allow you to set the shoe upside down on a drill press so you could guarantee to drill all holes perpendicular to the sole.

@@QueerGirlStraightSkates Well...like I said...give or take a few....high top boots usually have a few more (up to 180), but speed/derby about 132...per skate...tennis shoes, even a few less (maybe around 100-115?)...but, yeah....there ARE a lot of little pieces! :) Yes...yes...I am a skate nerd...what makes you ask?
