Welding without a helmet, wire wheeling with the wheel spinning inline with your face and no eye protection, grinding with the most pathetic bit of grinding disk I've ever seen, shooting sparks at your face. This is awesome!

Shawn you could make up some paper templates to trace off of. Just cut the paper out with scissors following lines of the wheel then trace it to metal so u don't have to keep trying to hold and trace its tough love your vids man take care

Some people call some of this work hack jobs. These are repair within reasonable cost. I have a 98 Dodge Ram I bought as a secondary car for hauling my dirt bike around for $1700. I already spent $500 in just paint supplies lol. Good job man

With as many of these as you seem to do I would go to Keystone and pick up a prefab for $55 and use that for the future patern, might want to pick up an inner wheelhouse panel for $72 for a pattern as well.

Guy's My main goal is alway's to make sure I can give these types of repair's more than just a street guaranty . That being the Job is guaranteed from where the truck sit's until it's wheel's hit the Street . That's why I spend the money on replacement repair panels and the proper rust proofing chemicals and trust Me there are many excellent one's out there, I just can't justify not doing it . Sure I've tried doing it every which way but after nearly 40 yr's of eating bondo dust I can tell you . The New owner will start seeing grapes within the first year ESPECIALLY where that truck lives . This is NOT hate comment just trying to pass on what took Me 40 yrs to learn. And trust Me I've worked for some of the cheapest rip off Used car retailer's in NY STATE..The cheapest way around it is doing it right so these kind's of buyer's come back . They are NOT looking to by a Truck they can take to the junk yard in a year trust Me..and if you want to see them again ..you got to break down a spend a dollar 380 get it..

Have you ever experienced problems after welding, with electroncs in the car? Is it wise to remove the negative lead of the battery to try and avoid voltage swings? Would a hybrid car be more sensitive to voltage? The sheet metal you use, is it just simple satin coat metal or is it galvanized to try and prevent rust?

Looks good man. I just did a similar job of my own. One thing that made my job and life a little easier was to use cardboard as a template. I then transferrred over to the sheet metal. The card board can even be molded a little to help judge curves and bends. Great job though. Thnx for posting.
