It would be great to see the legs slotted or drilled like the top with 5/8 or 16mm holes maybe 3 to 5 of them to accept: another bolt or slot on side rail. This could go on either the length or width of the table or both. Ideally this quick detach side support would need the standard 3-5 rows 5/8 holes so you can fixture for a 90* support off the table top. If designed properly this could also be detached from a “side” and used as a 90 or fence or riser on top of the table too.

The only thing about the seams down is, being a welded seam (correct me if I'm wrong about this) it'll be harder to drill through than the rest of the square tube. When I needed to remove the long stretcher from my 30x60 table to make it removable so I can use a hydraulic lift cart to pick up the tabletop, I reinstalled it with the seam to side. That's because the separate shelf has two bolt holes in the middle, and I didn't want to have to drill through the seam to add those holes. :P

You're correct that the weld material is harder. For example, the tubing steel has a tensile strength of around 36kpsi, while your welding filler is probably over 75kpsi. Nothing wrong with reinstalling it the way you did though! It's still serving as a cross brace either way! :-)

Make a removable bench mounted tree with an articulated/ sliding arm and a couple of rotating clamps (one for coupons and the other for pipe/tubing). Being able to tack and stitch sub components in a tree before fabbing them all together on the table would be great (can save the table from wear and tear). Additionally some of the welding schools may be interested in a combination product like that (more than likely a more narrow table).

@@JohnP Thank so much, will do! Awesome table and I am excited to get started putting it together, my first welding project. I am hoping to use for many many years to come and help hone the craft of welding from its table top. Thank you!

Would you guys work with a customer on payments? Like a payment plan to get a table?

I can buy a piece of 3/8 plate 30 inches wide by 72 inches long for 380 bucks. I can get four 3/8 4x4 x36 inch steel tube for 400 bucks. Pretty much can make a better welding table than your price

I dont understand why the bolt on kit is offered. If you can't weld on the legs, why are you buying a welding table? Nice inexpensive table though

Because removable legs can be taken off to get it through a narrow door or convert the table into a bench top version or other reasons.
