Thanks! It turned out pretty sweet, I kinda wish I didn't sell it.

May I ask what you used on the fretboard? To darken it I presume?

Black leather dye.

Why did you paint the guitar black first?
@LegacyGuitars Жыл бұрын
Hey Wayne! I dyed it black first so that when I reliced it you would see the black to contrast the white. Makes it look more like Jimmy's guitar. If I sprayed paint it would take a lot of coats of nitro to achieve that effect, so I do it with dye.

@@LegacyGuitars I had no idea that the Linda hendrix strat had a black undercoat . The Linda Hendrix white strat was a 63 which was used on the first experience album. It says it used BLACK bobbin 63 pickups which the black bobbin had a different winding compared to other 63 fender pickups, Have you looked into the black bobbin winding specs?

@@waynegram8907 I've heard of them, there are a lot of conflicting accounts about this guitar which is one thing that made it so interesting. I was going mostly based on the pictures I can find of him holding it, those are the only ones we know for sure is it. There are 3 guitars that people claim are the actual one today. I don't believe any of them.

I have not seen someone making 63 black bobbin pickups to match Hendrix, but I've seen Radioshop Pickups make something that might be similar if you are interested.@@waynegram8907
