Since I didn't have access to a heat gun at the time, I used a hair dryer instead. After about 10 minutes I got impatient, so I tried the oven/broiler method. It worked fantastic but I didn't know how to tell when it was finished and wanted to be sure, so I just kept heating it. The sleeve "overshrunk" and ripped across the handle; I didn't know it could shrink to that extreme. Very dumb on my part, but I'm sharing this so that some poor sap won't make the same mistake I did.

Very helpful video. I found the hair dryer very slow (20-30mins...the electric wallpaper stripper set on the lower setting worked great (5-10mins)

I tried with hair dryer, took ages, put it over the hob/stove, worked within one minute. Defo recommend for all people, just make sure you don't put heat on one section for a while.

Hey Yulitle, thanks for the video. I have a question: you mentioned using sleeves gets rid of the bevels right, if i only use one sleeve how much bevel feel will i loose? I currently have a 4 1/4 and need 3/8 so one black sleeve should do it right, but how different will that grip feel to a stock 3/8 one. How much more rounder will it feel

I had the same question. I've read it's about 15-20 grams each... big increase. I want to go up 3 sizes... I don't know if this will work.

hi! I just saw your video and is gr8!!, can you tell me the size of the sleeve?, because on your video, you said something about a white one that build up half of a size.

Hi, would we put on a normal overgrip? Or a replacement grip?

shitwinker I taking the USRSA too and it helped me a lot. Good luck on your test

@Cigaro901 For most players, the weight will be negligible. For players who truly need a specific weight/swing-weight, they should consider replacing the racquet with one that is the proper size. But, to answer your question, the weight can vary, typically from 4-8 grams. The swing weight is basically unchanged, since the weight is under your palm. This doesn't mean the swing feel isn't changed, though...

Hi, I tried with my wife hair dryer but it doesn't work. maybe not so powerful to do this. What do you think using the gas stove flame? Cheers, Nelson

@YugamiLight Yeah, I was wondering if having too small a grip would mess with my game or not. I asked my tennis instructor about it before, but she said that it shouldn't alter my game. Here's a clue: to my predicament: for total grip of the racket without wobbling, I have to put my thumb on one side to form a lock. :-S

Hello Thank you for your great videos!! How Can I change the handle of Head Racquets?
@Lithium00116 жыл бұрын
Hey man first of all thanks for posting this. I just got an additional N90 added to my army and it's one grip size smaller than the others. Can I just take off the overgrip + leather (basic) grip until the handle is all clean - then add this heat-shrink sleeve and put the leather + overgrip back on? That would make it one size bigger without getting rid of the edges of the grip, not making it all roundy, right? Cheers.

2:00 My guess is because it allows air to escape easier so that you don't get any air bubbles in the heat-shrink.

will adding a heat sleeve really mess with the weight of the racquet? lots of people have been telling me that it'll mess with the balance of the racquet. it pisses me off because i've been struggling with my confidence and a lot of it has been dealing with racquets. you dont know how angry i am right now. :(
@YugamiLight15 жыл бұрын
Because it's another piece your adding..it will increase the weight but not by that much...you shouldn't be able to notice it...however if your grip is too small I do suggest you get one..it can improve your game and probably reduce any wrist stress and tennis elbow....I had to do that to mine b/c my grip was small and was shifting too much when hitting the ball..

Can u remove the sleeve if u no longer want it? And how? Thanks.

Typically you can just cut it off. Slice it down by length and remove it.
