Long time voltron player here boros is hands down the best at it. Extra combats, good auras/equipment, tutors, protection, commanders its just that good. However i have a Galea precon thats been massively overhauled into an enchantress voltron deck and ots ridiculously good at drawing loads of auras to protect her and younhave Counterspell back up plus the amazing one sided boardwipes like winds of rath and single combat. Plus you get finest hour so you get more than 1 combat in a deck that isnt red. By far my favorite battleship deck and thats from a long time boros mage

Dogmeat has been my first shot at Voltron and my “helper” creatures are cards like Codsworth and Puresteel Paladin that make equipment cheaper and they get the lightning greaves, or creatures that can get stuff from my graveyard. As far as auras, strong back is priceless if you have green in your commanders identity.

Syr Gwynn is my personal favorite, but she's more of a Thor deck using Mardu removal (assuming its at least red or white) via Sunforger and Leon Shikari

Citizen’s Crowbar is REALLY good in Voltron decks as 1) removal 2) a sac outlet vs edict effects 3) equipment 4) cheap “creature” to cast when rebuilding from a board wipe

I made a jeskai deck thats an artifacts deck. It drains and baits answers then i bust out kasla as a hasty commander damage mass murderer.

Lurrus is one of my favorite Voltron commanders. The built-in recursion negates a big downside of auras. Also it has lifelink so you can ignore many go wide strategies. RE: Blightsteel - I've killed many people with Inkmoth Nexus about 20% of the time with the deck when Lurrus gets removed too many times.

I'm trying to make a deck with Mabel, Heir to Cragflame. I want it to be a myriad voltron, so I'm using as many was as possible to remove the Legend rule from the deck. The copies would make each other Mabel have +1/+1 and also create free equipment when they ETB.

Thoughts on new Feather as go wide aura voltron?

Would be pretty fair since you'd have to pay the extra 2 mana. Might be hard to track all of the token auras. Would definitely be more interesting though than playing combat tricks or something

I've never heard, in all my time playing this game, someone refer to The Ur-Dragon as a voltron commander...If you're not suiting it up with auras or equipment it's not voltron.
