My favorite part of TCG player is when they optimize my cart for me, and it ends up costing more somehow. I am not even limiting the vendors, if they just picked the exact same thing I had and did a pick the lower final cost between customer basket and the suggested "optimized basket", then show that as the optimized basket, then they wouldn't look so awful. There are times any seller cost more then verified only...

I'll be honest, I don't think you really need the ramp. You should focus on getting out as many hare apparents as early as possible instead. Cost reducers are good but lands don't really matter anymore once Baylen is out, so I would suggest removing the ramp and adding more hare apparents. If you have 33 Hare apparents, the chance of not catching one with ripple 4 from the trumming stone is under 20%, thats why I think that's the minimum number of hare apparents you should run.

Couldn't you have just used Forensic Gadgeteer instead of Urza? It says "Activated abilities of artifacts you control cost {1} less to activate. This effect can’t reduce the mana in that cost to less than one mana." And its only $1

Forensic Gadgeteer sadly doesn't work with the Foundry since it can't reduce costs below 1. Though it's a cool card! A slightly different build of this deck could definitely put it to good use.

Alternatively, save up and up the budget to around $30 and run both. Maybe dig around your bulk to see if you have some of the cards already on hand?

great build. only downside is how much i love when i click on the decklist link and moxfield says the deck costs 61$ usd. which would come close to $100 canadian thanks to our crappy dollar and mtg market

RIP Canada. Might depend on your Moxfield settings though. I set mine to show TCGPlayer Market Price which is just under $26. If it was set to anything else, it would show it being a lot more expensive

I rarely use TCG at this point. 1st choice is my LGS (90%/95% of purchases), second choice is Card Kingdom, 3rd choice is TCG. I've gone rounds w/ TCG about cards not showing up and the person on TCG's end not believing me. CK is a more expensive, but I've not had shipping problems w/ them.

I use them pretty equally, but it normally boils down to, Do I want it quicker? Use Card Kingdom. Do I want it cheaper? Use TCG Player.

I think the Knighted Mar is supposed to gain double strike every time a +1/+1 counter is put on it, so this game was definitely Jason's. Doesn't really change the outcome tough :D

Hi guys. New subscriber.. Glad I found this... I've been out of the loop of magic since roughly 2000. When I got back into it commander was new to me. I built a Zurgo helmsmasher voltron deck. Was ok. Found myself kicking myself for spending money on tons of equipment and lt didn't really work out. Looking back I'd say it was mostly because after Zurgo died a few times.. He was impossible to cast. With Zurgo he's tough on offense but I'd send my tank into battle leaving me defenseless... But now I feel I'm ready to try again... But with a sneaky voltron. I'm going to try to use froto and Sam. A Double dragon technique. Both are cheap to cast and white black and green gives me access to ramp, board wipes, protection, and tutors. Anyways wanted to share and I look forward to seeing other vids

Just FYI, try out TOA Magic. Just ordered from them after finding out about them through another channel. The experience was PERFECT!!! Free shipping, cards were in great shape, processed quickly, prices were really good, , found all the cards I was looking for, and super helpful. Will be going through them going forward.

I slightly cheated when I played commander the other day. I had tapped all my white mana and I had two untapped lands for generic mana. When no one was looking, I untapped one of my plains cards and tapped a generic land instead so that I would have the white mana available so that I could flash in Archivist of Oghma to draw a card to see if I could get the card that I needed. BUT I was honestly not going to play it. I just wanted to see if i would draw it. So ... cheating technically but not for the win, just to see if my misplay of tapping the wrong mana would have made a difference. In the end, it would have not changed the game, I think. I just wanted to see if my misplay of not leaving open a white mana might have mattered. For the record, I didn't get the chance to flash in Archivist of Ohgma so I'll never know. Think about it now, I should have told the table what I was doing. If someone had noticed, it would have been really embarrassing. I should have just conceded the game, because I had conceded anyway really because I wasn't going to play the card I might have drawn. I just really wanted to know if my mistake made a difference. I should have said "hey I'm conceding right now just so I can possibly draw a card to see if it would have made a difference." For the record, I would never ever cheat to win. I just wanted wanted to know if I had not made the mistake of mistapping the wrong lands if I could have won.

9:47 Whenever that happens to me, I assume it is a treat from that store to entice me to shop from them again and/or leave them a good review. I've only ever received cheesy things like a Pokemon card or a Zombie token or a basic land or something. I've always just assumed that it's like a free mint at the hostess stand in a restaurant. I've also only received the wrong card once, and the seller was just like "Our bad. We just packed and doubled checked the correct card and put in the mail. Sorry for the inconvenience. Keep the mistake card on us."

If TCGPlayer could perfect the "Optimize Cart" feature they kill off the competition. Personally I've optimized my cart and there will still be multiple 15 cent single just chilling with a $1.29 shipping cost. Usually I've hit the free shipping threshold with another seller on that order, so I'll just go through their shop and 8/10 times they have a couple of those 15 cent singles for a few cents more. I can't exaggerate how much money this trick has saved me.

The fact tcg has a grab the cheapest cards without having to go and pick them 1 by 1 on CK i easily would rather wait 1-2 weeks for cars the spend like 50-100$ extra to get it in like 2 days im fine waiting for more packages Edit: like there are times I want a cheap card from ck and there’s a 1000$ card in there when I see ones like 2$ like why is that there

What kinda sucks is that while TCGplayer has better prices and more cards. Since your orders are often coming from multiple sellers, a LOT of the time the shipping is like 50-60% of the cost of your order. Where as CK it's all coming from the same place, so WAY less shipping, but....WAY more expensive for each card. I even tried something once where I filled my cart with the order I wanted on both sites, so exact same order on both sites to compare prices. And the funny thing was...it actually ended up being roughly the same price with CK being maybe 1-2 dollars more. While I totally get it's easier said than done for obvious logistic reasons, I would LOVE if we had a website that had TCGplayer's prices but all came from the same seller so you wouldn't run into the issue where like you're ordering a bunch of cards and like a random foil common you wanted that costs like 20 cents, is coming out to 3 dollars because of shipping.

I've found that shipping cost on TCGP is all over the place. Sometimes sellers won't charge shipping if you spend a certain amount, even just for once card. Then sometimes it's only $1-2. But then sometimes you can't predict it at all.

I only use TCGP. I did the math, and if I used CK I would have spent an extra $1,000+ by now for the same cards. It's already an expensive hobby, CK makes it worse.

TCG is routinely almost across the board cheaper. Considerably so. Who cares if shit comes in one envelope? That isn't a flex. That isn't a perk. TCG easily.

I've been trying to move away from TCGPlayer. Half of my previous orders from them went to the wrong address or just didn't show up at all. Then after the big EDH ban, they apparently changed their policies so you are just out of luck if your order doesn't show up. Also, yeah, their whole "save for later" thing is garbage. It seems to save the exact card from the exact store. If you try to add it to your cart, if it is no longer at that store, it just goes back to "save for later". They should really just do a "wishlist" thing that will then run the cart optimizer.

Tcgplayer's cart optimization sucks. I always go in and manually remove cards and add them from there sellers. Sometimes it will randomly throw a version that costs 50 dollars more than a normal version for no reason.

My experiences: 1. Card kingdom is more expensive and slower to ship compared to their competitors. 2. TCGplayer's cart optimizer is awful. If you take the time to manually configure your cart, it's the cheapest option for buying cards by far. 3. Starcitygames has been quite satisfactory, but they always charge ~$5 for shipping regardless. Location matters as well for shipping times. Cardkingdom is in Washington state, TCGplayer is in New York, and Starcitygames is based out of Virginia. When I order I mostly use Starcitygames for larger orders, and Tcgplayer for any cards they're missing. Either way I'm still sure it'd be cheaper to have a drug habit than play magic lol.
