Thank you for taking it back to basics AND with scientific evidence - So helpful for me, someone who is just getting into skincare at 28 :) I love your videos, they are so informative !!!

I got into skincare a few years ago and let me just say, from experience, you don't need a lot of products. When I first started the first thing I did was buy multiple cleansers, serums and creams/lotions of all price ranges, some of which I never ended up even finishing and had to throw away. My advice is just buy the bare minimum and try to avoid becoming a skincare shop-a-holic. 1 Cleanser, 1 serum, 1 moisturizer, and 1 sunscreen can go a long way.

Hello Doc.Liu I follow your videos and thank you for being an educator on having a healthy skin care , it makes me feel better about myself as I get informed ! I have been using tretinoin 0.025% and azelaic acid in my skincare routine for melasma, for almost 2 years and I haven't seen much of change, also on my skin texture. Could you make an informative video on percantage of tretenoins and what yo incorporate with them for melasma and texture of the skin. Also on how we can use them throught the year, do we need breaks in between or change of percantages? If we are family planning when do we stop using which products and their substitutes ? Im sorry if there were many questions, but i just wanted to put these thoughts out there and hopefully answered over the time in different future videos ! Thank you for caring for us 🎉😊

Melasma can be super challenging to treatment and honestly requires more then just topicals, often combined with cosmetic procedures.! You don’t need to necessarily take breaks, may get some more benefits if you were to go up in strength and probably would benefit from seeing a derm and try other lightening ingredients in additional or procedures

My face has been covered with Melasma , after seeing the 3rd Derm he put me on Triluma ( 3 time around) and Tranexmic acid pill it has cleared. I’m also peri menopausal so I think that place a part as well. I’m addicted to sunscreen. I can see the melasma coming back.

Thank you for the information here. As a more mature woman, I’m looking for the best way to take care of my skin. I’m particularly interested when you state to use certain ingredients on different nights, such as retinoids one night, and glycolic acid on others. Does skipping a night or two of retinoids lessen their effects?

I have been educating my self on what products to buy and how to combine them. This video was great this is all I needed, thank you. Dr. Also what are your thoughts on bukuchiol, can it be used in the morning instead of a retinoid, or is not necessary?

Hi Dr. Jenny! I was diagnosed with melasma a couple months ago but my derm, and at my follow up a couple days ago I was diagnosed with telogen effluvium and androgenic alopecia. Do you have videos on these conditions? The hair loss has got me worried. (I was prescribed oral monoxonil).

Thank you! This is helpful. I just jotted down a weekly skin plan using this as a guide and knowing my own skin needs (I’m very sensitive but prone to congestion). Where would bha fit in this pyramid? Or do you only recommend those for acne prone?

Hi Dr Jenny, can I use copper peptides and tretinoin in the same routine at night ?

Hi, i have an acne-prone blemished combination skin. I'll keep it short. I don't use Make-up usually as im trying to treat my skin however there are times when i have to wear make-up for gatherings/party so for those days how do i double cleanse my skin? I was thinking to do double cleansing in this way: 1st step i would use a cleaning balm and for the 2nd step can i just use the Cetaphil gentle clear Complexion-clearing BPO Acne cleaser or do i have to follow with a more gentler cleanser like Cetaphil Gentle skin cleanser ? And if i do have to use a more gentle cleanser then do i still have to follow with an acne cleanser or am i good to go? Please let me know whats best for me.

Hi Doctor! Im 24 years old and have dealt with hormonal acne in my late teens I have been on isotretinoin and it pretty much cleared my acne. But I was left with some post acne pigmentation and scarring. Its been around 4 months I started using glycolic acid 7% 2 or 3 times a week along with alpha arbutin and vitamin c in the morning. My skin did great at first marks seem like fading but I also had some ice pick scars mild but still there and also used to break out once in a while. I decided to incorporate a retinol ( 0.2%) started of with once a week for 3 weeks and now twice a week along with the previous routine but my skin is not doing great Im getting a few bumps here and there and also experiencing flakiness. What should I do? Should I continue with this routine or drop one of glycolic acid and retinol. And if yes then which one should I drop?
