I don't get why don't you have more subs Dan, your biz advice is top shelf, I actually want to do a skype collab video with you and intro you to my EiC audience.

It takes time. I'm patient. They will build ... but truth is, I care more about the type of entrepreneurs I attract more than anything. Most of my subscribers are actually entrepreneurs with bigger businesses ... which may be a smaller demo on YT for subs :) Appreciate the comment though. DM

The key here is applying this criteria BEFORE hiring or bringing a team member in. The tendency is to evaluate those already inside and wondering why or how it happened. Thanks for the tips, Dan!

Any business is a bi-product of their people. Don’t settle for mediocre. Use these 6 characteristics to filter out the duds.

Hi Dan, I have been learning from your videos for quite some time now and so has been my team as they help us building a World class company. I have an employee who possesses all the above characteristics, but there is some kind of problem always around her as she loses her temper n peace very often and quite quickly (just as a kid), how to deal with her? Regards Satya.

Satyaveer, great question. If you can find her a position in the company where she doesn't communicate with others and you can reduce her negative actions on the team, then do so. If not, find someone else. I had a brilliant engineer work for me for years, but he didn't interact with the team because he was "toxic" to most. He still solved some of the hardest engineering problems .. so it was worth it, till it wasn't. Once we grew, we decided to let him go ... wasn't effecient. Hope that helps. DM

How do you advice the person with a brilliant idea for a brilliant business that has no competition on a local level (Scandinavia), has the entire thing in his head that is keeping him up at nights but has no expertise to successfully go through it by himself as he comes from a completely different field, and is in need of a team, but is at the same time lacking the resources to hire the right people to the advisory board for example,. To me it sound that all of that will require some capital, or good connections in order to achieve. What does the man who has no experience in the field, no capital or connections, but just a brilliant idea that has no competition do. How does that man go about finding the people necessary to work with him, and keep his idea from being stolen at some point. How do you suggest getting from 0, the seed, to the point where you assemble a good team that will, by working together bring that idea to fruition. What do you think about when a potential investor, looking at the team behind the business plan, which has something to do with financials and investments, and see that the founder of the company has actually nothing to do with finances or investing, a founder who comes from completely different, Service industry, yet you can see clearly that there is great potential in the business, do you stop looking at the business plan or turn the investment down just because the Founder of the company that will deal with peoples money and finances has had a career that has nothing to do with money and finances? How would you go around all of this, how would you go and find the right people without money to pay them (I would offer a partnership in the company), and how would you keep the idea safe from being ripped of from you because at the end, you will be looking for people who do have experience that you lack, you will be looking for sharks while you are still a little golden fish?
