I've reverted to stock bar ends after the R&G ones I used caused my hands to go numb on the motorway, they're much lighter than stock so very valid point.

I've watched my father build stripped down bikes since I was a young lad. Now in his 70s he's decided time to give up. I've never been shy of picking up bikes that need some work. The bikes insurers will rite off for minimum damage these days is a joke. The price they decide on to expensive for repair also includes storage, inspection costs and picking up. There are also costs on the actual report being submitted after inspection. This all adds up and doesn't give you a price to fix the bike which is usually a fraction of what is shown. A dropped in the garage where the tank was punctured by an axel stand cost me £120 to fix. No doubt a cost of hour labour and the tank cost if a garage is used. Even then scrapping a bike for something that simple is a waste. Even if a bike has slid up the road it's repairable for less than another bike will cost

Those Gilles engine case protectors are garbage. I had them on my MT10 from new and they were a disgrace after about 4000 miles with paint flaking off. No crash damage and not a mark on the actual engine itself. I have gone for GB Racing covers for my MT09sp.
