great video! my question is, can I reserve my from Namba station the Nankai-Ltd Express going to KIX, days in advance? if so, should I physically go to Namba station to get the reserved ticket?

Thankyou! Yes, you can reserve it online - I don’t know if you need to pick up the ticket at the station or if you can just use your phone (maybe just the phone is ok?). Anyway this seems to be the English website: www.nankai.co.jp/en_railway/traffic/express/rapit.html?rapid=2

Oh it says “Smooth boarding without tickets” so I guess they use e-tickets now!

I’m flying into Kansai airport soon and will have to go to the Moxy Osaka Honmachi hotel. Can you tell me what is the most convenient way for me and my wife to get there? Train or limousine bus? And how do I do it for either way?

Thanks for the comment! I'd say that the train is probably the best way. You can take either JR or Nankai Limited Express (or other trains, just don't choose a local train, it stops everywhere and will take forever) - if you get off at Shin-Imamiya station, you can transfer to Osaka Metro's Sakaisuji Line, Doubutsuen-Mae station (It's only a few minutes walk from both JR and Nankai Shin-Imamiya. Then get off at Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station, and the Moxy hotel is only a 5 minute walk. Limousine Bus doesn't seem to stop anywhere convenient, they seem to stop at the Hotel New Hankyu Osaka though. You can walk to Osaka Metro's Umeda station from there, ride to Honmachi station (not the same as Sakaisuji-Honmachi) and it's a 10 minute walk to Moxy. If it were me, I would take the train. If it's limited express, you can book a seat, and Shin-Imamiya/Doubutsuen-mae is a lot less crowded than Umeda. I hope that helps, and safe travels!

Hi David, where can I buy a IC card in OSAKA? Is it available in Kansai airport ? Thanks.
@davidinosaka40696 ай бұрын
Hello, thanks for the question. Yes you should be able to buy in in Kansai airport. They’re available in most large stations. Or if you use iPhone, you can put ICOCA in your wallet app!

Can I use an IC card to get to Himeji or Nara from Osaka or do I have to buy separate tickets? Many thanks
@davidinosaka40698 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the question! You can use an IC card if you’re taking a regular train (which for those places I guess you will be). Just be careful if you ever take a Limited express train - then you need to buy tickets!

how do i know that i got in the right direction? tysm
@davidinosaka406910 ай бұрын
It depends - if the two directions are on different platforms, there will be signs at the top of each set of stairs before you go down, saying which stations this platform is for. If all the trains leave from one platform (so you either take the ones on the left or right) there’s normally a sign on either wall! Good luck! They do make it a lot easier for English speakers these days!
