How to Bypass A Dead Microsoft Surface SSD

My Surface pro 5 was labled bad the SSD but with this simple volume down key to bypass I was able to reinstall everything and save the internal SSD... I just whant to say thank you so much.

Damn this video helped, I was able to repair the drive through device manager, for some reason I wasn’t able to create a partition, now it’s running off the SSD surprisingly

you just need a very fast usb drive and let it there. i recommend samsung Bar Plus or the Fit Plus if you want to be more compact. The bar plus is faster and has better cooling. Anyway is good to know you can unbrick an 1200 euros tablet, which firstly shouldn't break. If microsoft would have some common sense they would post this method on their site, instead they give you just crap.

I follow the instructions using a usb drive but when i tryed to reinstall windows the screen showed me the same that in the begining sayind windows cant not be installed i this drive

This is to install windows to a flash drive. The internal surface drive is probably dead and can’t be used. Windows to go is the only option

Tested the same drive on a desktop computer and it boots as it should, what's wrong with the surface?

@@CharmandrigoGG My SP5 will not boot from the USB 3.0 port. I have to connect my USB 3.0 drive to a USB 2.0 cable or hub to get the Surface to boot.

Surface recognizes ssd (its brand new) but idk why it keeps rebooting on loop "can't install windows & watch dog error code), if I put my old ssd it runs fine 🙃
