Worked perfect thanks so much! Very straight forward. Do not try to use a USB or external hard drive that has stuff on it. Clean USB works perfect. I used 16GB.

Just curious? I've seen about a dozen troubleshooting tips and tricks and a bunch of questions regarding the data. I work for a company where we have a stock of Surface for our users. No pressure to replace a unit if need be. I want to know about "data recovery"? Is there a way to save the data? That's my question? I had to disable Secure Boot, manually boot from the recovery USB (you can swipe left on the UEFI devices to force a boot from a specific device), then I had to reenable secure boot and use the Power + Volume Down trick to finally get it to boot at recovery.

I found a better fix to this last night and know the cause of it. The firmware wants to update however for some reason secureboot needs to be disabled. (disable secure boot and after the update has completed enable secure boot) "surface pro 7"

My surface pro keeps loading to a surface uefi loop. I downloaded the surface recovery image, extracted on to a usb drive. At the surface UEFI screen, I configured secure boot to none and boot configuration to usb and exit. This brings me to a choose language startup, went to troubleshoot and recover from a drive option, tried just remove my files and fully clean the drive, but both ended abruptly at early stage saying problem resetting your pc. Desperate here, any advice/suggestions??

I did this and it worked but when I turn off my SB2 and turn it back on again it goes back to the UEFI screen... The only way it boots up is if I hold down the volume down button. Any way to fix this?? I tried to change the boot order and it does the same thing..

You don’t need to DAW load nothing, all you have to do is POWER BOTÓN AND VOLUME DAWN. Restart relished volume then power botón and bingo

Sorry your having this issue however that’s the video I had the same issue you have to follow the steps in the video but the only difference is the windows you download is for the model of the laptop but everything will work the same

@@DTDailyTech So I turn on my computer, the surface logo blinks a few times and then goes into the UEFI screen, then I click on exit to restart and it sends me back to the same screen. That's usually the case but there are some rare occasions where I turn on computer and it starts windows normally but after a few minutes of use it shutdowns and goes back into the UEFI loop.
