Asslmulaikum App ne jo Elbow Radius R= 1' (internal Radius) liya hai wah kis basis se liya hai as per smacna Short Radius , Medium Radius, Long Radius kyun ki all three smacna method se 3' (36") ka 1'(12") nahi atta hai please explain Jazakallah Khair

R=1' (Supposed value). It should be equal to "w=width" for long radius, w/2 for medium radius or "w" up to 1'= 300mm for short radius

W.Salam, Two points should be noted 1. Aspect ratio should not less as per smacna/ASHRAE standards, further check at your end. 2. Area should not less from actual duct or fittings

It fixed by fabricator i.e. short radius, medium radius or long redius as per design requirements or site condition

Long radius should use because very low friction losses and use medium radius then losses will more and in short radius losses will high. If losses high in static pressure of fan shall be high and equipment cost will increased. So all factors to be consider during design and installation.

In starting video, I have explained SMACNA standard about short, medium and long radius. Sometime radius put as per site conditions due to installation hindrance. 1st you decide radius and then do other working
