If you ever wondered what is crit chance for your skill in Last Epoch, this short tips video will showcase an easy way to calculate exactly that. Method presented in this guide is very simple and it doesn't require anything more than checking few numbers and a calculator.
Text version:
You have to go to stats tab and check your "crit chance" stat (make sure to use the stat corresponding to skill type you are using) and divide that number by your base crit chance. By default it's 5% plus anything that gives you additional base crit from your gear. Write down the number you got. Now you just have to go to spell skill tree and check all the nodes that give you base crit there. Add it to your previous base crit and multiply it by the number you wrote before and you have more or less an accurate crit chance for your skill.

One correction, when I say 500% increase in my example it's actually 400% increase (1 + 4), where 1 is there to cover our base crit and 4 is a total increase. Sorry but I am very confused, My chaotic fissure build, I have chaos bolts skill tree +8% crit, my sheet 25% spell crit chance. My chest has 110% crit chance, amulet 87% crit chance, off hand 67% spell crit chance (not using a crystal skull), wand 108% crit chance, how would I figure out my actual crit chance? I appreciate the help.

In your case, from what you said (not using crystal skull): * you take spell crit chance from your sheet and divide by base crit chance: 25 / 5 = 5 * now you add crit chance from skill to your base crit chance: 5 + 8 = 13 * now you multiply that by the number you got from first point: 13 * 5 = 65% critical strike chance for chaos bolt

@@borofsol Appreciate the breakdown so I got a crystal skull and moved stuff around. 40% spell crit chance, +8 crit from skill. So it would be 40/5=8. 8+5 =13, 8x13 = 104% crit is my new crit from chaos bolt? When would plain crit chance from sheet be used, when its not a "spell"?

It would be then: 40 / (5 + crystal's skull base crit value) = x 5 + crystal's skull base crit value + 8 = y x * y = your crit chance with chaos bolt

How does it work for critical strike chance and melee critical strike chance ?

As long as you don't have crit chance on skill tree, game will show you accurate number.

@@borofsol no but i mean because they are two deferent stats do they add ? Or does one build upon the other ? Like if i have 36% critical strike chance and 36% critical melee strike chance, and i use swipe, do i have 36% crit chance, 72%, or a calcul between both ?

They don't add up, you use the one that correspond to skill you are using. If you use melee skill then melee crit shows your actual crit chance. Critical strike chance is just global crit without specific modifiers (spell, melee) etc.
