I struggled with math and had to rely on "tricks" and raw memorization to get decent grades...but without understanding of "why" or "how" equations were created. One fast trick regarding percentages, is to simply multiply the "4" by the 15, then move the decimal. I like his teaching method and wish my teachers in Jr high and high school was at his level.

I can’t agree more!!! I wasn’t diagnosed as dyslexic until I was in my senior year of high school. By that time, I was terrified of anything involving mathematics. I still have to come back occasionally and re-learn how numbers work (😂), and this is his approach is calming rather than infuriating. It’s a fine line.

you don't need to find 10%, 5% in order to find 15% of 400. just multiply them!!! so, it would be 15 by 100 (15/100 or 15%) × 400 then cancel 00 from 100 and 400. And 15 × 4 left, therefore u get 60. hope this helps.

The simpler way is, to take the discount and subtract it from 100%, then multiply the cost, by what you got when you subtracted and just don’t forget to move your decimal in
