Greetings. The answer is determined by dividing 32 by 75 and multiplying the result 100. The answer works out to 42. 6 recurring which would be rounded to 42.7% and or simply 42% which would yield 31.5 if you find 42% of 75.

@randall brown...I also did this quickly in my head. But I am NOT his target audience. For someone who claims to be so smart, you are very deficient in the concept of target audiences. You have areas you are NOT so strong in...same as everyone. I bet your weak area is WRITING. If you were a strong writer, you would easily understand the concept of a TARGET AUDIENCE. Are YOU producing math videos for those who are unable to process math problems like these as quickly as you and I? I didn't think so. Give this guy credit for sharing his knowledge instead of using it as a battering ram. You're smart ...but you are not intelligent

@Fred Smith I find a percentage in a simple method. What percent of 75 is 32? X percent of 75 =32 X/100×75 =32 X/4×3= 32 We should do the cross multiplication. 3x/4 = 32/1 3x=128 X = 128÷3 X = 42.6666 X = 42.67

I think you did a good job of explaining the how - but I would like to see more of the why to understand it better. For example, WHY do we multiply the answer times 100 for the final answer and WHY did we move the decimal point to the left when solving the problem. I know the answer, but someone like my grandson would not understand this. I think they need to know more about the role that the tens and hundreds place value holds in order to understand this better. Thank you for your help.

Great tutorial video! I would also like to add, that many students slip and think the "part" will always be the smaller number of the two. Look out for key words like "of" to determine the "whole" in the fraction. ( % = part /whole) Ex: 150 is what percent **of** 50? It's referring to % = 150 / 50 or further put % = (150 ÷ 50) x100 (or just move the decimal two spaces to the right) 1) 150/50 = 3 (Think of it as 3.0) 2) 3.0 x 100 (or just move the decimal two spaces to the right) = 300.0 = 300% 150 is 300% of 50

Thank you for your math tutorial and a great refresher course for me. I always find math easy for me to do since the elementary grade (I’m now soon to be 69 yrs old). I learned the old ways from school (born in the Philippines)and especially from my mother who helped me with my math homework. I always like math and especially fractions, and could do simple problems in my head without writing it down. I taught my granddaughter the old ways of solving simple math problem just by thinking it out. She excelled in math and recently graduated with accounting degree. Anyway, I found myself following you more often, and today, I couldn’t help but do the problem. I am a little rusty with my math, especially that I have been retired (retired nurse in the USA, no need to do anymore drug dose calculations ). Not thinking much nowadays except when I play my scrabble game, and now thanks to you I’m into math again. It’s very stimulating and challenging , it also helps in exercising my critical thinking skills. I’m now a subscriber!❤❤❤

32 is what % of 75 you ask? I did it this way. 75 is 3/4 of 100 so multiply 75 by 4/3rds to get 100. Now we also have to multiply 32 by 4/3rds. 32*4 = 128 and 128 / 3 = 42 2/3. Very simple and can be done in your head (unless you are really bad with numbers mentally).

I can't justify spending thirteen minutes watching this as the answer is straightforward and took me about fifteen seconds. Seventy five is three quarters of a hundred, three quarters of thirty-two is twenty-four. Ergo: the answer is 24%. I have a grade three CSE in maths (yes, it has an S, because it's a contraction of 'mathematics') which is not really very impressive, but I am numerate and have a lifetime of experience in applying simple and practical calculations to everyday problems. I left school at sixteen, unable to do long-division, but I was forced to learn this when I had to calculate overtime and bonus rates as a shop steward in order to check that I and others were being paid the correct amount. What is required is not some special technique or 'trick' to make this kind of calculation, but very basic numeracy and familiarity with using numbers. I regret not paying attention to my maths teachers in secondary school and if I met her today I would apologise for being an inattentive and ungrateful student, but the idea that maths requires specialist knowledge is elitist and damaging for most people. Teach people basic numeracy and mathematical literacy at an early age and they will develop the skills necessary to do simple calculations like this. There is no need to overcomplicate it.

A much much simpler way to solve this that would only take 1 or 2 minutes, not 13 could be: 32 is x% of 75. So x*75/100 = 32. So 75x = 3200 So X = 3200/75 = 42+2/3 I could say all this very quickly and clearly.

I had a similar thought -- multiply 75 by 4 to get 300 (because percent is per hundred, and you want a multiple of 100), so multiply 32 also by 4 for 128. Then, divide 300 by 3 to get down to 100 and then also divide 128 by 3 to get that number down to 42.666 which is the "per hundred" percent. That guy includes too much extraneous information. (But still, I do it an even easier way than what I just described.)

You can also do it thusly: 32 / 75 = x / 100. Then... 75x = 3200 Then... x = 42.666667

I learned to do these with equivalency like if 75 is 100 percent 32 is what percent? So you multiply 100 by 32 and divide by 75...so the answer is 42.66 percent

_ percent translates as "for every 100" . Therefore what is 32 per 75 expressed as per 100. The answer is 42.666... per 100 or 42.67 %

I tried working this out my own way but my brain kept flipping the damn figure on me and instead of working plain "32" I kept doing calculations based on 32% which was screwing everything up. I eventually gave up when I realized that half of 75 is 37½ and 32 is just less 5½ of that, so 32 is slightly less than 50% - and that's good enough. More accurately, it's probably around the 43% mark. I got more important things to do than waste hours of my time on hypothetical math problems that do not affect my income or budget, so until it does - screw it. FINAL ANSWER : 32 is IDGAF% of 75. EDIT : Last try : I made 75 into 750 (75 multiplied by 10), cos if 32% of 100 is 32, then just multiply 32 x7 which = 224. And of the remaining 50, if 50 is half of 100 then that 32 would be halved as well, to be 16. Add 16 to the product of 224 = 240. Divide 240 by 10 to undo the original tenfold calculation and that leaves 24. So,my final answer is : 32% of 75 is 24. And if that aint right, then I give up. I got other more satisfying things on which to waste what little time remains of my life.

Another way. 75 is 3/4 of 100. Therefore percent required is 4/3 x32
